My Interpretation of Week 2; Onward to Week 3

Next Week:

I'm pulling for a Panthers win next weekend. Not saying that that's gonna happen, though. The Cowboys, as much as I hate to admit it, are doing pretty damn good this year. Their offense is looking sharp, and their defense is looking solid.

Yeah, we're likely to be 0-3 going into the bye...not saying that it's gonna happen for sure. Just saying that we should all be pulling for 1-2, but we should also be expecting 0-3. Don't make any predictions. It just jinxes the whole thing. Having that mentality is what kept me from picking up my chair and smashing it when Delhomme threw his only (Thank fraggin GOD) INT. I was expecting it. I knew it would happen, and so I wasn't disappointed and angry when it happened.

Here's my review of this afternoon's performance:

On Mr. 17:

Yeah, Delhomme. I want you to play EXACTLY like that, minus the INT. Plus hand the ball off to the Running Back EVERY SINGLE SNAP UNTIL THEY STOP YOU. Only then should you attempt a pass. It keeps 'em on their toes. When you see that they're focusing on defending against the rush, you sneak a pass in to Mr. 89, and get those yards. Also, you should use the Tight End more often. They never think to cover him, cause you never use him.

On the O-Line:

THANK YOU!!! A big reason why Mr. 17 threw so many INTs last week as because you weren't defending him almost at all. But after watching you this afternoon, my opinion has changed. You held the Line together, and gave Mr. 17 enough time to find an open target. It really helped keep the Hurry-Up pass game alive. You also were superb opening up holes for Double Trouble. You opened up a couple of holes that you could have drove a truck through! It was beautiful!

On Double Trouble:

As usual, DWill and JStew kick ass! DWill, buddy, don't worry about that fumble. Just keep poundin' it, baby!

On the Wides:

Mr. 89, Mr. 87, and Mr. 80 all saw a lot of exciting receptions this afternoon. Couldn't have been happier with their performances. They ran their routes, kept their hands on the ball (For the most part), ran fast, dealt out textbook stiffarms, and just all around kept the game alive. Kudos.

On Mr. 88:

That was a pretty sweet touchdown catch, bro! Keep it up!

On the D-Line:

I know it's hard to suck when you have the biggest defensive asset in the NFC in the form of Mr. 90. He collapsed the pocket continually, put pressure on Ryan, and helped to stop several Atlanta drives.

On the Corners and Safeties:

Keep it up, Mr. 31. The Pass Defense was really solid today. Not much else needs to be said here really.

On the Line Backing Core:

You guys make the defense what it is almost every game! Keep it up!

On Special Teams (Kicking):

Nice kicks. Nice and deep. However, containment of enemy Punt Returners was shoddy. You guys really need to step up when it comes to that.

On Special Teams (Returning):

Why were you kneeing it so much when you could have run another seven or so yards? You had room. Whatever, at least there were no fumbles.

On Special Teams (Field Goals):

Kickass as usual. keep it up.

In General:

IMMENSE IMPROVEMENT over last week. Still several things that need to improve, but overall the team did a great job coming off of such an embarrassing loss. The Defense needs to learn to hold Running Backs in the backfield and needs to work on not missing tackles. Lots of those this afternoon. The offense was phenomenal today. Keep it up. Good job boys!
