Sometimes teams bring guys in just to work out in case they need them later. That would explain the return ticket being in hand. Yes it's near the end of the season but the Giants have already clinched so it's not an unreasonable thought.

he should be thankful he got the workout. put yourself in his shoes: you haven't done anything all season but sit on your couch and watch the game you love so much. then you get a call to take a flight to new york to run some routes for the defending super bowl champions. hell, i'd be thrilled to toss around the pigskin. he basically got a free trip to new york to play an afternoon game of football. that sounds like a good day to me.
