I can't feel too bad for that city. They took Seattle's team, and have been a playoff contender ever since (other than that 1st season in OKC). They've never had to cheer a bad team, or go through a rebuild. Welcome to the NBA.

Alonzo Mourning?

I mean it sucked when we lost Alonzo but the NBA wasn't like it was now, with all-star teams and 90% of the teams having zero chance.   Wasn't far later on though.

Pistons

Bulls

Spurs

3/28

3 teams accounted for all the championships in the 90's. 90% of the teams had no chance in the 90's either. Parity in the NBA is a myth.

There were more teams that had chances.   Utah had a bunch of chances and was right there, for instance.  Pacers were always a contendor with Miller.    They had shots, at least, way more than they do now.   I agree not like the other big sports, but there was all-stars on each team and more had a chance, or at least, felt like it.   Knicks, Blazers, Suns, all fielded some good teams.   Sonics even had a couple.

Clippers, Spurs, Warriors, Thunder (Before KD's departure) and Cavs all had a great chance to win the Championship.  I agree with the fact that more teams had stars in the 90's but they still couldn't compete with Chicago. Even when Jordan retired the Rockets won back to back championships

Honestly I think people are upset at the fact that players are deciding their own faith today instead of trusting GM's. When the celtics formed the Big 3 with Pierce, KG and allen i don't remember anybody complaining they were happy that a once great franchise had a chance to be good again.

Yeah they couldn't compete with Chicago, because Jordan was amazing and Pippen came along as well.  But they didn't exactly create a video game fantasy draft all-star team like they are doing now, the second go-around they got Rodman but that was kind of it.   There were rivalries.  Bulls vs Knicks, vs Pacers, etc.  They all had their all-stars.    They didn't hang up and share a bloating Banana down in FL like Wade/Lebron/CP3 and them.    Winning mattered but winning the right way mattered more.    Those guys had pride and stuck with their teams way more than now.   Right now, everyone but the Cavs and Warriors fans feel like they start the season off in the losers bracket.   Not because of a Chicago team with an amazing talent and great roleplayers but because people are playing a video game in real life.

No, they were people complaining, because it was cheesy.  It was also cheesy when the Lakers tried to do it with Payton and Malone joining in for what everyone thought would be a title.    Didn't work for them though but it may have been the start.   Malone ended up looking like a dummy leaving Utah and playing a season there.

True, The Bulls front office build a great team. But great players today did not want to end up like Barley or Miller. For example if Lebron never leaves for Miami, Boston would have dominated the east without any resistance. It would have been cool to see the Cavs finally beat the Celtics but the cavs were not doing a good job putting talent around him so he left. In regards to the rest of the teams fans feeling like they have no chance, last year nearly everybody believed we would see Cavs vs Warriors they were the best teams. Fans still can enjoy watching their teams play imo.

Can't wait for people to say Durant is the best player in the world when he goes scoreless in the last couple minutes of the finals and Klay hits the game winner

That's never happened befoer

So lebron din't block a critical shot that would have given the warriors the lead and make the game sealing free throw? What more does Lebron got to do? he lead the finals in all stats.

Lebron James couldn't win a championship by himself in Cleveland, so he left a team that had gone to The Finals to play with two superstars in Miami, on a team that was very good before he got there, even winning a championship before his arrival.

Kevin Durant couldn't win a championship by himself in OKC, so he left a team that had just gone to the Western Conference Finals to play with two superstars in Oakland, on a team that was very good before he got there, even winning a championship before his arrival.

I understand you really like Lebron, but even with the thickest King goggles available you have to realize that it is the EXACT SAME THING.

All Kevin Durant needed was some bullshit televised special to showcase his arrogance and a WWE style introduction party into Oakland and it would look like we went back in time.

It's similar but not the exact same thing. Lebron left a team that lost twice to the Big 3 Celtics, the Magic team that beat the Big 3, and had lost to the Spurs in the Finals years before. He left a team that had supporting players like Ilgauskas, Delonte West, Mo Williams, and an old ass Shaq. The Heat were another, lower seeded playoff team that had not faced the Cavs in the playoffs during his time in Cleveland.

On the other hand, KD is teamed up with All-Star and MVP candidate Westbrook, two promising young forwards/center in Kanter and Adams, and some decent role players. A team so good that they pushed the Warriors to 7 games and looked the better team throughout the series before reverting to iso-ball. KD leaves said team that was 1 win away from the Finals to go to the team that he lost to? It's a bad look. The only thing I can give KD is the fact that he didn't do some "The Decision" style BS.
