Pieces are signing left and right with other teams. This is not the NFL if you do not sign players early talent will dry up completely.

Well by that comparison, how many of those NFL teams who "won" free agency by overpaying early on actually went anywhere meaningful in that upcoming season, like deep into the playoffs?

Not too many.

I have some concerns, sure. But I'm gonna let it play out.

This again is not the NFL and most teams in the NBA have needed to win in free agency in order to compete for a championship.

I didn't say it was, but you mentioned the NFL dude, lol.

The problem with the NBA right now is, the elite level talent pool is pretty thin. That is why just about 75% of the current teams are medicore to just plain garbage. There are a precious few players out there capable of lifting a franchise far into the playoffs practically on their own. So the idea that you are one player away is kind of a fantasy at this point. Unless you are talking a LeBron James or a Kevin Durant.

Oh I meant most people see the Panthers and what they done and they think oh the Hornets are copying them....good. No it is not good. I believe that we are a decent back up PG and a starting center away from the Eastern Conference finals unless KD moves into the east. I truly believe that. Last year we were pretty close.

I guess I can generally agree with that.

But when we picked up players like Lin, and Lee last season, a lot of people were kind of dismissive at first. But they turned out to be pretty crucial signings in a role playing capacity. We still have options.

I liked both of those guys as players for the team. Had no gripes about those moves. It just seems like this team is complacent with being okay and that is it. Of course just my opinion.

Steve Clifford also has to keep pushing the effort thing  and has said many times we don't have a lot of bigman talent ... So we have to always out hustle every team.. Cody is playing center because we don't have a true center.. Was I the only person who watch the playoffs and saw Whiteside control us for full qrt.. Limiting us to 1 shot and not letting us near the rim..

Where do we ranked on block shots in the league???

And how did Cody work when Wade and the Heat decide to just attack the rim??

Cody is absolutely a center in today's NBA.  Did you not watch his first two years where we tried to make him a PF and it just didn't work?  Cody was really, really banged up in that Heat series.  And why does it matter where we rank in blocks?  We were one of the best defensive and rebounding teams in the league last year

Cody has a better chance at PF than at center.. And I thought Cody was getting better at that position anyway before the move to center..

You didn't answer not one of my questions..

What happens when teams just decided to attack the rim on us again??

Where do we rank in the league in shot blocking??

How many games did we get out rebounded this year??

Where do we ranked in 2nd chance points against?

How are you a defensive team if you have NO RIM PROTECTION??

When you figure this out let me know if Cody fits this "new league" Center type??

Because all the teams we're actually trying to emulate.. Have atleast 1 or 2 actually rim defenders and high volume rebounders on them...

Well, for one, it'll help having the best defender in the league suiting up for us again this year.  I don't know why you're freaking out, our defense is always good under Clifford.

Where do we rank in the league in shot blocking??

Again, why does it matter?  We had a really good defense last year WITHOUT MKG and with Al playing serious minutes.  There is absolutely no reason to believe our defense won't be better next year.

How many games did we get out rebounded this year??

We ranked in the top half of the league in rebounding last year, so probably not many.

Where do we ranked in 2nd chance points against?

I'm not sure, but we had a top 10 scoring team so I'm not to worried about second chance points as long as we keep scoring a lot of points.

How are you a defensive team if you have NO RIM PROTECTION??

Lol why does it matter if we have no rim protection?  We had a top 10 defense last year without MKG.

I want to know why you think Cody is a PF and not a C

1. No back to the basket game.. or post game in general..

2. No rim protection.. Which you can deal with if he's a PF not with a C..

3. Not a dominate rebounder or inside presence.. Gets pushed around alot..

Plain and simple ... Cody has a better chance of being a Ryan Anderson type than a Dwight Howard, or Jokiem Noah type bigman..

He is a PF I wish you ppl would actually know basketball.. We stop nobody attacking us from the inside.. We go on long stretches of games losing the rebounding battle... Nobody fears not going to the rim against us.. All these need to stop if we want to advance in the east..

I would really like to know where this comes from. We led the league in defensive rebounding rate this season (our system marginalizes offensive boards so throw those out). So, care to prove this somehow?

I watched the games.. We gave up second chance points a lot and we had to be the Super effort team and win all the 50 -50 loose balls on a nightly bases.. Clifford has said this..
