That meant to say go with your plan.

-------------

So the alternative that has been proposed. Renounce all FAs besides Batum. (We sign him to the same deal but his cap hold stays at $19 million)

So we have (estimates here):

Walker $12 million, Harrison $874,000

Lamb $6.5 million, Daniels $1.2 million, Belinelli $6.3 million

MKG $13 million, Batum $19 million

Kaminsky $2.7 million

Hawes $6.3 million, Zeller $5.3 million

= ~ $75 million

______

Then we add Bayless for $9 million a year (3/$27 million) = ~$84 million

Then we have $10 million to spend on a center.

-----------------

The current plan:

If we sign Marvin to his early Bird Rights, we'd still have the $10 million to sign a center.

And no back up PG and no starting Center. My plan would be a better idea. I like Bayless but any decent back up would do. Around 7 million a year. That leaves around 12 million a year to sign a center and that should be enough. Could even make a trade of Hawes to clear an additional 3 or 4 million. My idea is better than signing Williams and having 3 PFs and no starting center or back up PG. Then trying to get both with 10 million or less.

also just read that biyombo has signed with the magic - 4 years for (likely) between $48-$56m. compared to Mozgov's deal yesterday, this seems a bit of a bargain (god knows how all those forwards on going to fit into the orlando front court though!)

Yeah....no

Better? In your opinion, sure. But I think it's debatable.

My plan would leave us short on a back up PG and yours would have Frank as our starting PF heading into the season.

My plan doesn't leave out the fact that we are going to be involved in the trade department. I've always felt that way with all of our biggest contributors being FAs.

Not in favor of signing Marvin to a crazy deal but would take Marvin with the Early Bird (12.25 with annual 7.5% raises) in a heartbeat.

Sounds like Marvin is coming back just wirking out #s - so we need a backup PG and it would be nice to try and trade for Vucevic or Millsap.

Would looooove Millsap, but their asking price would probably be too steep. Plus, they still don't know Horford's status.

Enjoy having 3 PFs. Along with no true starting center possibly and no reliable back up to Kemba Walker all while putting the ball in Marco's hands to create opportunities. I predict a 10 seed at best and no playoffs unless something changes. All we add is Batum and Williams back along with cheap rotational players and lose Lin, Lee, and Jefferson? It will hurt if something isn't done to address that. Yes, I think Kaminsky is good enough to start and he literally willed us to a win in game 3 of the playoffs this past season. With more experience he should only get better. Of course when I say better it is always in my opinion and I could be wrong just as everyone else who disagrees could be.

I don't like the situation at the Center position very much but I think you are forgetting about the return of MKG. He will open up a lot of different looks for the team then we saw last season. Let the free agent frenzy die down a bit and there will be some pretty decent back up guards to choose form. Who knows maybe Cho puts a bid on a guy like Ezeli. Worst case is warriors match but who knows. 10th seed in the east is a little over the top.

Not when you see what teams who were not even in the playoffs have added so far. I guess we all shall see this season. I honestly hope I am wrong as a fan but my gut is telling me bye bye to the playoffs.

The east has been a lot of addition and subtraction. Orlando is now a bunch of players on a roster who on paper don't fit well together at all. ATL is banking Dwight has a rebirth and doesn't implode the team like he did in LA and Houston. Wade might end up going to the Knicks. A bunch of rosters in the east are a mess right now. Let FA pan out a little more before going into full on panic mode.
