Are we featuring Stewart for a reason?

Does anyone else get the feeling Stewart is forced in the game at the wrong times or too much. Not bashing the guy he had a great game or the coaching actually. Damn it feels like he goes in at the wrong times, though. Just when d will is getting on a roll.

Is this being done for trade reasons. Extending the season of both for the streach run. Help me understand. Am I reading to much into it?

I definately felt this way, again, in the first quarter and other times. It seams like D.William is making plays getting into a groove then he's out. I wish they would ride him more. Of course Stewart running the way he did makes me feel better about the rotation. I just would like to see Williams get 25 carries for once.

He's used in order to keep both backs fresh. So 'getting on a roll' could also mean 'tiring a bit'. It may not seem like much at the beginning of a game but it is at the end. We just need a defense that can get off the field for it to be effective.

I loved the way both RB's played today. There were a couple things I didn't like about the Williams was running the ball on a couple plays, mainly dancing on sweeps and stuff.

Coming from a power back fanatic, I was proud to see Stewart break their defense when he came in the game. I'm sure the Falcon's D watched him come in the game and thought to themselves "O sht, here comes Stewart".

Dwill was a beast on those 3rd down receptions though.

I honestly think a lot of that is Williams and Stewart. I saw them on several occasions look over to the sidelines and wave the other guy in. I think both players are trying to stay fresh and honestly if that extents their careers I'm all for it. Eventually we will be left with only one of these guys so it will be nice if they don't have a ton of carriers on them when that happens.

    • Yes. Arm strength is a problem too, but his biggest problems are decision making and accuracy.
    • His work ethic may be a question mark, but I question his ethics in general. The way that he weighed in at the combine and the left immediately while everyone else was throwing. He knew he was conning someone
    • When did I say top 3 picks? Talking about starters who were unsuccessful or sent packing from one team to find more success on another--- Goff? Carr? Geno Smith?  Darnold? Baker?  --heck, if you take those QBs alone (5) you are talking about over 15% of the league.  But you are looking at performance and I am looking at skill set and fit.  What you did not mention is the bust rate for the rookie qbs who are drafted.  Why is that?  Fit and, in my view, opportunity to develop. I know that it is easy to say, "I saw this on TV"  or "but he has only been good for a short amount of time"  well, this process is not a lifetime achievement award.  Darnold was here for a half season--did he ever show the success he did here as he has in Minnesota?  Nope.  So what is the difference?  FIT.  My point?  If Jones is a top 7 QB over the past 3 years when throwing from a clean pocket and here, we will have a top running back room (Hubbard and Brooks), a good young WR room, a good young developing TE, and a veteran, top 5 offensive line--those are the conditions that would make him throw from clean pockets.  That is all I am saying--did I give him a gold jacket?  I said it was risky.  So is drafting a QB.  I also mentioned other ways our team could improve. But you decide to put words in my mouth and then argue against those words.  Brilliant.
