This is starting to look like a Lee, Lin and Al dump to me...maybe bring back Al on vet min but ee're making a big FA move or 2

I hope you're right, but I'm also scared it will be the wrong move...  For instance, I kind of prefer Noah over Dwight at this point, but we have already been linked to Howard.

Dammit!  Paige was just drafted.  He is going to be a good, possibly great pro.  I was hoping we could sign him as a UDFA and replace Harrison.  I think he's an NBA starter, and possibly an eventual all-star.

He's small. Not just in height, but in weight as well. It's debatable if he'll be as athletic if he bulks up. I can see him being a really solid 6th man though, and personally I think that's his ceiling, but if he exceeds that I wouldn't be too surprised.

after years of watching people complain about who we draft here, i'm glad we just traded the pick. i don't know anything about the guy we got but we either use him in another future trade or we expect him to rebound after a bad season and add more 3 point shooting. anyone we would have drafted would have eventually failed anyway.

i kinda like the lin, lee, al dump idea. we'd have to go big on someone, idk who. of those 3 i'd rather keep lin. lee played great in those playoff games but he was an mkg stand in and likely won't be as important with mkg back (assuming he doesnt get injured again).

we need to be focused on getting some fas and some more trades. that's what we're good at. unless we pick top 10 i don't care if we draft anyone ever again.

Yeah, he's sloght, but he is really athletic and he has absolutely no problem creating shots or plays for others.  I think his stock suffered because of his senior year, but that wasn't a fair assesment of the total package he will be.

Cousins could be targeted and I'm starting to buy into it

I would too just bc of the talent.  And yet, i'd also be hesitant because he is not a winner and is quite a crybaby.  He is a harbinger of dysfunction as well lol.  I also don't see what we could offer to win any sort of bidding war for him either...  not to mention unless their owner has changed his mind about him, i don't see how they'd trade him, because Divac loves him.

All and all, i don't see this as a realistic possibility.

I thought about this but

I seriously doubt it. It'd be nice but outside of MKG what do we have to offer?

He apparently hated the draft and I'd take him over Dwight any day.

We are obviously in contact with Sacramento so I'm not giving up hope :)

If we land Dwight and by some miracle KD but we lose Batum, Al, Marvin, Lee, Lin and Lamb/Hawes/Zeller in salary dumps and have to fill the roster with scrubs would y'all be happy?

I've thought about the possibility that maybe we could be clearing cap to pursure several of the elite guys, specifically KD.  I even thought about making a thread to discuss it...  but, I didn't because it won't happen.  Players see we have no direction and we don't have an established, winning culture.  Dwight isn't really elite anymore, but has name recognition, so I'm sure we'll throw the whole bank at him, and although he'll be an upgrade in the frontcourt, I fear his production will drop off rapidly in the next few years.

Bringing in KD would only be possible if we bring in another superstar first and then convince him we can legit challenge the Cavs for the east. Not an impossibility but highly unlikely with our track record.

Also, I think people don't really understand the NBA, especially on this board.  The NBA is the opposite of the NFL.  I've heard it explained before that in the NFL what makes you a winner is the supporting cast...  if you have 3-5 elite players, it's the other 48-50 guys that make the difference between being a perennial contender and being 8-8.  In the NBA, you can have 15 really good players, but unless you have 1 or 2 elite, all-nba players, you aren't going to win big.  You need the individual stars in this league to win.  The teams that are winning now did it with draft picks and supplementary FA signings or trades.  But, their homegrown talent is the core.  Historically, signing or trading for a star from another team (outside of the two recent "big threes") doesn't work, and even if it did, we can't even lure guys that are from here to come here, so unless we actually use our draft picks and draft well, we'll keep being what we've been.

Yeah, but the other problem there is the guy we have reportedly shared interest with is Dwight, and after his last 5 years or so, what other star player is going to want to come here with him?
