i think more of his Redzone plays needs to be fixed...he gets those fixed he will be hard to stop

We led the league in Redzone scoring percentage last season (counting the playoffs... we were 2nd for the regular season).   It was one of our biggest areas of improvement.

Looking at the past 5 years:

Hopefully the massive improvement was not a one off.  There's not much room to improve on the kind of red zone performance we had in 2015, but if we can match it in 2016, watch out.

Considering how terrible our receivers were last season

They were "WE AIN'T GOT NO WIDEOUTS!"  terrible.

35 Receiving TDs (3rd best in the league behind Pats & Giants) terrible.

I'd like more please.

But if he leaves I think he would suffer the same fate as Chud

Nice. Fit my post perfectly.

I really hate posting AC/DC, but it does fit.

Also, never have been a huge fan after For those about to Rock, but with Axel and coming to Greensboro, man I'm so tempted.

Top 3 in drops, 1st in dropped TD, 1st in yards lost to drops, bottom 3 in YAC. Main reason we lost the SB.

Shula and Cam were handcuffed by the WR last year, sad fact but true.

True enough.

It was just so amazing what we accomplished even with this crew.  So yes, huge credit to Cam, Shula & Proehl.

And here's to a season with much more impressive talent at WR.... but the 2015 WR's will always have a fond place in my heart due the incredible way they exceeded even my most wildestly optimistic expectations

OP says top 5.... (lmfao), I say bottom three. Long developing routes, lack of creativity, inability to change up on the fly when a team realizes how to stop it.... absolutely horrible, sounds like a high school OC.

Not to mention that he uses the read option as a standard bread n butter run play...Jesus

As for me, you are spot-on about this.

Now as for your other post mentioning the lack if production from our RBs, I think that you're kinda missing the point. Shula intentionally designed our rushing offense around the threat of Cam Newton's legs to keep opposing defenses off balance and guessing, so of course that's going to eat into the RBs' production. But, our running game was still very efficient, and Stew went to the Pro Bowl along with Tugboat.

On an off note, Cap was running well in the ATL game, and Shuls pulled the plug inexplicably early. He also does things like run a back into a stacked box on successive plays which makes no sense.

But, I absolutely agree that our receivers left way too much meat on the bone which was a hindrance, notwithstanding our yardage and touchdown totals. We could have been better, and I still believe we'd have won the Super Bowl but for drops (the main key one being the Cotchery bobble that ended up a no-catch).

I am hoping that Shula will have the sense to get Funchess a lot more snaps this year. I am hoping that will help the YAC, as well as the more sure hands and elite speed of Byrd.

your an idiot...Cam runs the zone read perfectly and it gets him in a role in the passing game..

Would you like Shula to call short passes that Cam is not that good at?  Kinda like a offence that Rodgers and Brady run?  That would be smart right?  Take everything our QB does great and not let him do it....Glad your not running our team

if you want to see someone who went way overboard with the zone read and a bunch of whacked out formations and play designs look no further than what chud did basically over the entire first half of 2012

for better or for worse shula is a good bit more conventional than he was

Im def not a chud fan at all.....he was very different....

just wish we could give Shula the love he deserves
