Cam was great without Shula. Shula has never been great without Cam.

Would have been more impressed with Shula if he was able to counter what Denver's defense was bringing in the SB.

Denver claimed Shula did nothing they hadn't already seen on tape and prepared for.

This is pretty much what I feel. I can give Shula credit for the offense last year but can he do it again? The fact that we face Denver right off the bat is going to be an early test. Losing again in a similar function will not be a good sign at all. It'll be a big sign over our heads reading, "Do what Denver does to shut us down. We're too stubborn to adjust."

On a sidebar, this conversation is similar to when we had Dan Henning. If I had to vote between him and Shula... I don't even want to entertain the thought.

Yeah, the upcoming Denver game concerns me.  Panthers O looked flatfooted and unprepared, while the Broncos D took their game to another level.

Panthers D did their part to keep us in the game, but the O looked like an old jalopy that sputtered, backfired and could never get things rolling.

Shula and the O seemed to be caught off guard and unable to respond.

Next time these two teams meet, Shula will have had over six months to figure it out.

I hope that is enough time for him.

Shula deserves the credit.

I'm not interested in what Hue vould have done, because it's nothing but hypothetical bullshit, and I don't subscribe to the what if games.

I also like coaches that adjust to the players, instead of going after players that do well in a system.

Shula has put his players in position to win. Of course Cam (and company) got it done. You can have a good coach without players.

Good players with bad coaches do fail.

just having a group chat topic of where Shula ranks as a OC

I say top 5, one of my buddies not to be named (rhyslloyd) says fire him now he dont care...

what does the huddle think?  I know he has had a bad past but the dude turned the corner last season and showed he can use Cam the way Cam is designed to be used

How can you say he's " turned the corner" when he's had one good year in Charlotte. If he continues his hot streak this year then I say he's good.

I personally think Shula is below average. Again, prior to working with Cam and especially this past season, most top 25 college programs would not want him as their OC.

With that said, Shula has been limited by what he can do on offense given the way that the Panther's front office constructs the team...i.e. ignoring the offense for the sake of defense. So in that regard, Shula has been pretty good given that acquiring offensive talent is not a priority for the Panthers.

He pretty much negated nearly all the progress he made throughout the entire season by actually thinking it was a good idea to line up Ted Ginn Jr behind center at the absolute worst time in the game in the fuging Super Bowl, pissing away crucial favorable field position in the process for an offense that struggled to get much going the whole game.
