really who the hell would do that

they're sacrificing a year of their careers and putting their health at risk playing a dangerous game and the only reason they're doing it is supposedly because of one. franchise. tagged. player. who isn't even guaranteed to be here next year and by all indications probably wouldn't have been anyway.  oh they hate the front office and can barely stand the stench of gettleidiot but are willing to hold their nose because of one dude who frequently drew the ire of the leaders of the defense and coaching staff during games.  who hadn't even signed his franchise tender.

so basically the only reason anybody is here is because they were sold a bill of goods about josh norman.  what a crock of poo.

What's even more bizarre are his very intelligent football posts about the X's and O's of the sport and how draft picks like Shaq were hugely beneficial to what we are trying to do on defense. I cannot wrap my head around the poster. He's a troll of sorts but also knows football.

What is the big deal.... Seems to me the Agents are pissed they cant get a bigger cut of the pie working with Gettleman than they can with other GMs. IMO Agents have no interest in the players... I see it all the time... My Player this... My Player that.... all the guy wants to do is play Football.... quit trying to sell him.

Players want to get paid and win, those don't always go hand in hand.

Panthers have trouble signing big names. It is not that they do not want to sign them in the off season - especially now with money to spend. Gettleman has consistently failed in negotiations with all of them. They have tried to land some, but it always falls through since Gettleman is now a target to be used as leverage by players/agents around the league. Not to mention most players/agents, if not all, distrust Gettleman. It would be very difficult to find player/agent who has any type of strong rapport with Gettleman.

the biggest name I can think of is Nicks and we have been better off without him. I'm not sure who you are referring to though but it's been stated that Dave's philosophy is to fill holes via FA and build thru the draft. It's not bulletproof but had been successful thus far.

Gettleman constantly reiterates that he makes moves based on cost and evaluation. I don't think he's lost that edge by bringing in cheap and hungry young players over and over instead of dishing out huge contracts. He always seems to be a step ahead of the game.

This!!!

Meanwhile, we've got a guy like Charles Johnson taking 50% of what he was offered to play in NY so he could come back here...

If a guy really wants to sign here, it doesn't matter what his agent thinks.

Which is why Josh Norman is a Redskin.

And, no, I'm not condemning Josh Norman.  He didn't make a lot of money in the league his first 4 years.  Now he has it.  He's set for life.  Good for him.

But the reason he's not a Panther is because HE chose not to be... because he prioritized money over team.  Again, that's fine.  Lets just call it what it is.
