Honestly, when you listed his multi-faceted skills, I thought of Kam. Could he possibly be our version from the linebacker position?

Funny, it takes just about a year for DG's draft picks to really start shining.  Wasn't it the 2014 draft where a majority of the players picked by DG were rated 1st round picks after one full season of play?  I think you'll see that happen this year as well with Funchess/Williams and maybe Payne will even get some flashes starting at RB.  If Kony can come around and be a consistent presence as well....oh boy.

Shaq was a monster last year.  Keep in mind we ran nickel some 70% of the time...aka only 2 backers on the field.  Not only will Shaq get involved more this year, but our back end coverage will be able to benefit from his presence and having 3 backers on the field more often.  Going to be a good year.

All remaining D.G doubters only dislike him because they are holding a grudge and are still bitter about the Smithy release and refuse to admit their wrong. There's no way you can deny his body of work. His drafts, salary moves, f.a signings, hell he's the reigning Sporting News G.M of the year. He can do no wrong in my book

There are still a vocal few here who sarcastically mock those of us that support the front office and call us DG dick riders. These people were so emotionally invested in Steve Smith as their childhood hero that they will never get over it. DG could put together a dynasty with multiple rings and they'd still hate him for what he did to their beloved Steve Smith. 

Which by the way, was STILL the right move in every way, shape, and form. Yes, even the handling of it, when Steve Smith went off the reservation because Gettleman said everybody was being evaluated.

It is great to see Shaq growing as a player. We as fans are truly blessed to be a part of what is happening in Carolina right now. we are getting spoiled with 1st rounders, and 2nd rounders that quickly become some of the best at their position. That has been true for a long time, but now we are also seeing late rounders, and UDFAs who blossom into very good players. Regardless of what the naysayers may naysay (that IS what naysayers do, right?), DG has certainly led us into the Golden Age of Panthers football.

Don't lump all Smitty supporters in together.

Hes my GOAT and I will forever tell his tales.  The big difference is Smitty brought some fire to the field of our eventual defeat but Gettleman has brought talent to our eventual success.  I'm all in with the nips.

That is one of the best ways I've ever seen to describe what Smitty brought to the Panthers. 

Even though I'm only a quite recent fan, I saw just enough of Smitty to see that fire and understand something of what he meant on a team that was typically struggling to rise above mediocrity.  He was someone to get excited about even if the final score did not always go Panthers' way.
