He sure did, amid being hurt again, but I doubt that the coaches will be basing his roster position on one game.  I am not in the Philly-is-safe camp. His level of play left a lot to be desired last season, and as such he can't take Byrd or any of the other motivated receivers for granted. The fact is that Philly's role is likely going to diminish greatly whether or not he's on the roster in September.

Now dont get me wrong i hope every reciver on the team becomes great.  Not a byrd hater by no means but im of the opinion that what happens on sundays cant be over looked.  Philly is no where near the best receiver on the roster but he plays well when the lights go on.  Do you let him not make the team because you HOPE bryd or hill work out during the season?  Idk.

The Brown pessimists on here is pretty interesting.  For an UDFA that is entering his third year (the year that you see the big jump in WRs), as well as a guy that put together a decent season and got better as the season wore on, he is often left off lists.  Nothing against Byrd/Hill/Norwood/Garrett but Brown is not a guy that we need to cut ties with, IMO.  Once Ginn departs after this season, I'd much prefer our roster with Philly on it.

Post 2016 WR depth:

KB

Funch

Brown

Byrd

Hill

Garrett

...unless we draft/ pick up better obviously. So what do we do to make room for Ginn this season? I assume that you're putting Byrd and/or Garrett on the PS this year. I still want to know what's going on with Norwood. I haven't heard a thing about him.

Fluff comes in two delicious flavors, so either way, it's a win.

Maybe Ron is trying some psychology so Hill keeps his nose to the grindstone.

I hope Ricky is right. The prospect of a 6'4" guy with that kind of speed is exciting, to say the least.

We could be in store for every coach looking like Bruce Arenas this year. Like Wtf can we do?

Is Hill still PS eligible? If so, one has to think that the leading receiver in college football last year would be picked up off the PS over a dude that's been a couple different teams already - recovering from an ACL injury.

Not really sure the past has anything to do with who makes the team. If Hill looks better than Garrett then Garrett will be on the PS even if he gets picked by another team.
