No Pass Rush

Same old song and dance. Our blitzes are fuging useless.

The scheme and alignment is pathetic. I really like Fox, but the painfull truth is much like billick who is considered a offensive genius who never could move the ball fox is a defensive coach with no d. The scheme is grabage. Difference between bucs or bears who supposedly run the same scheme there CBs dont align 11 yards off the receiver.

Our blitzes where even worse. 6-10 is best case scenario. Look at it this way. Falcons played d much like we did today which kept us in the game and made Jake appear as something he is not.

Another thing, I think minus d will fumble we played about as well as you could expect under the schemes and still lost.

Sadly we have been watching this defense for years. Even last season the defense got shredded plenty. The lack of any pash rush what so ever is very frustrating..... and asking for them to blitz is useless because they are horrible at it. Finally the inablity for this team to get off the field on 3rd and long is pathetic and that has always been an issue for this team. This all being said is the reason why I am starting to get on the fire Fox banwagon.

Falcon Fan here I would just like to say that I thought your team played good and showed they really wanted to win the game. It seemed like both teams had no pass rush.

Jake was able to carve up ATL's secondary. Atlanta's coaches make stupid mistakes also they keep starting Jamaal Busterson a DE this guy was a 8th overal pick in the first round in 2007 and he has only 2 career sacks and has about 10 games with no tackles

THe pass rush could surely be improved. Still, the secondary's failure to attack receivers in their zones was a huge issue. Other than the captain, who contested a pass today? Gamble flailed at a few after the receiver had caught it, but didn't pressure the receiver. The problem is no one can play close enough to a receiver or recover fast enough to pressure the ball and contest the pass. It starts with the corners and is magnified in our safeties.

I think the coverage was decent, Ryan just had too much time and was able to step up on almost every pass.

I wish we would have lost a few more games in 2007 and drafted this dude. He's going to be a star and will haunt us for years to come. I can only hope he gets traded out of our division.

I think our players on defense just stink...other than our linebackers. Beason and Davis can only do so much. Gamble IMO has always been horrible and our safeties can't cover a cold either. Harris is a "sloberknocker" but not the best cover safety. We need a shutdown corner bad. I wanted Turdovac gone, but what we have now isn't better. Maybe it is Fox...I just don't know. I'll give him props for rallying the team and playing much better than last week...but it was still a loss. If we had any resemblance of a defense, we would have won today. Sucks that again it appears we will have a losing season after going to the playoffs the previous year. With this schedule and the talent in the NFC south this year...things don't look good. How many points will Brees put up on us? 70+??

this is because all we had to upgrade with are mildly-talented rookies. 0 immediate contributors. why? 1) no first round pick 2) julius peppers.

Brees is going to drill us a new hole to poop out of... Our defense has to get stout and fast. We'll get a taste of New Orleans Lite next week...

Ryan didn't have that much time. We just played soft coverage and no one could break on the ball. No aggressiveness in the secondary at all. Hell I rather have Ricky Manning Jr. back. He got burnt all the time but it was because he was too aggressive. I would love to see a press man every blue moon.
