Von Miller situation turning nasty

it's a tough business, but if you want sustained success, I think the Broncos are better off parting ways with Von. Luke signed a very team friendly deal 4 years ago (5 years, 62M) and although at the time it was one of the largest contracts in the history of the NFL for an ILB, he probably could have gotten more elsewhere, but he saw what the Panthers were building and he saw a bright future.

oh crap, does that mean Luke's contract is up next year? fugkk, another player we have to worry about locking up for at least another 3 years. Hopefully he takes another team friendly deal!

Luke signed that deal last offseason and was locked up under the 5th year option already.  He did not have the ability to go elsewhere at all. He's under contract through 2021.

Well what did Elway expect?!? He didn't pay Brock, Peyton retired, so they don't have the big QB contract eating into their cap...Miller definitely sees that!!! Elway is really mucking up right now!!!

Mr Miller, we can tag you for 15.7 this year and 18,9 next year. That is 34,5. We will be nice and increase that to 20 a year, fully guaranteed and 38 of it payed up front. In exchange for you excepting three more non guaranteed years at 25 each.

Miller: I want more money!!!

The way NFL contacts works this is a good deal.

Miller: I'm the best defensive player, I demand to be the best payed!

That is not how NFL contacts work.

Miller: I want more money.

I would like to see Miller stick to his balls and sit out.  A lot of players like to threaten that crap but when the season is upon them, they punk out.  For once I would like to see the corporation taking a hit for the employee.  Once the Panthers obliterate the Broncos on national tv opening night, Elway will come crying to Miller with a blank check for him to fill out.

If he's not there for the season opener I'll be pissed. Cause then Denver fans would try and make that an excuse as to why we demolished them.

Most Denver "fans" will abandon ship by October when they are 1-4

My mom's whole side of the family was born and raised in Denver. You can say Broncos' fans are blind homers (might be the worst fanbase in the league for this) but saying they aren't loyal is asinine.  It's a religion out there and I can't say the same about Charlotte.

Who cares if he's a top 3 or not. He has done more than Olivier Vernon and single handily won Denver a SB. If Miller didn't play in SB50, we would've won.

the man is only asking for more money than Vernon.

You can't compare KK's sacks to Miller. You just can't.

The subject was best defensive player in the NFL. When you are a pass rush specialist and your production is the same as a DT and several other DT out perform you then you aren't the best defensive player in the NFL.

He is incredibly good but I don't think he's the best.

Truth. I've lived in CO for almost a decade now and seen the Broncos good and bad. I wish we had the type of fan culture they have.

It been popular you suggest the same about the Seahawks. As much as I despise them my past few weeks in Washington suggests the same. There are Seahawks flags and references literally everywhere. Not new stuff by any stretch but the old old old colors and logos. It's ingrained. These are people who started following in the Largent Era.
