I really enjoy the write ups.  I'm pretty excited for RoI.  You're last write up is actually what got my self and a few of my buddies playing destiny this past weekend.  We were seriously wrecking some pvp.

Just an FYI, RoI won't drop until 5 am est.  Bummer :( I was looking forward to getting a couple of hours in before I have to go to bed.  Now, I'm contemplating waking up at 5, but I don't think that's going to happen. I have to go to a conference for work tomorrow so it looks like I won't be able to play until tomorrow night.

I hope you didn't!  I get up for 5am for work, and when I tried at 5;15, the servers were all down.  It's been kind of a mess getting folks logged in.  It's getting better now.  If you have the ability, go enjoy RoI!  I can't wait until I get a chance later!

I'm glad I could provide something.  I really enjoy this game, beyond it's mechanics, loot grind, repetition.  I love the art, the gun play, the sound, the satisfaction when hitting head shots, going positive in Rumble (WTF!???  How did I manage that!), and sometimes, just having a dance/emote party in a social space.  I can't wait to break it down with Lord Saladin!

I am a committed, passionate Destiny addict/fanboy.  I love the people I meet, clan, strike, otherwise, I love the content the community create, the good it's done for people's lives and for charities.  This is unlike any game I've played.  It's kind of going beyond a game.  I'm glad I can be a small part of it.  Even if it's just keeping this thread updated for my fellow huddlers!

One day, I'd like to make some real videos.  At the behest of the Bungie Boards, I'm working on gathering footage for my Fabian Strategy is awesome video.  Just doing it through game captures is hard!

Real news update for those of us stranded at work.  Planet Destiny went through all of the new weapon vendors and Patrick Casey kind of gave his opinion. I saw some things I'm going to rush home to buy tonight!

For me, the Dead Orbit Shotgun, the Crucible Hand Cannon, Rocket and Snipe are super interesting.  Got to see how many marks I can end up with once I trash all of my old gear =)

Wow, just realized I'm sitting on about 600 Legendary Marks with all the old gear I'm going to dismantle

Wow, just realized I'm sitting on about 600 Legendary Marks with all the old gear I'm going to dismantle

I used 200 legendary marks for material 2 weeks ago and havent recovered like I would normally by now cause I was working on my Titan, which may be my new favorite character(Sunbreakers FTW!!!!!) I might go through and scratch some gear after I get my Warlock up with my spark of light, cause it took me literally no time at all to go from 210-320 with my titan once I hit lvl 40, but I also dont have any exotic gear waiting for the warlock either this time around.

played through the main RoI storyline today before I had to work tonight, it's shorter then the Taken king, but I had fun.

spoiler free pro tip when you pick up a "special weapon", first off fire is your best friend. and then attack the enemies shields with the melee button(RB), then spam the trigger(RT) for a quick kill, otherwise you will die a lot. 

I died like five times before figuring this out.

Thanks for the Pro Tip =)  I've just had too much family stuff and work stuff to dive in yet.  I've been doing my vault clean out.  I'm 340, never left the tower.  I still have a few more crappy legendary guns to break down, but I've gotten almost all my armor except my helmet.  I should be able to get that 350 once I get home.  Once I go for my Legendary Engrams, I hope to be over 350.  Man, my vault hording is terrible but profitable...

Regardless, I should get the first mission done today.

I finished the RoI Main story Yesterday as well.  For what it's worth while short, I felt it was very good.  

I also finished up the gjallarhorn quest.  IT WAS WORTH IT!

My Light level is still low.  I can't seem to get any decent drops on gear.  Sitting at 337 I think.  I guess I'll have to save up marks and purchase the gear.

I hoarded TONS of old legendary equipment and engrams.  I still haven't touch my engrams and I had my 200 marks. 

With the way light is working now, you'll need to always have your highest light gear.  Blue gear will go up to 340, Vendor gear is 350, packages can go up to 385, that includes hoard chests in strikes.  Keep working those factions for gear =)

Here's what I did to get 340 in the tower:

1. Bought a 350 ghost from Vanguard(any vendor will do), and a Speaker Butt-Cape (only 40 marks and a bunch of motes).

2. Opened my blue engrams one at a time, equipping new items that were higher in light.  The game is literally looking at 1-3 light per item upgrade.  

3. Vault Raid:  broke down poo tons of old crappy gunsmith guns, old legendary gear.  Bought vendor armor (chest, legs, hands).  My next step is to breakdown my remaining junk and buy a helmet.  Then I'm going to pop my factions over (Vanguard, Crucible and FWC on Titan, I'll do my other classes later, I'm concentrating on my Titan because he's a boss!) for their Guns and see what I get.

4.  Campaign, Strikes, daily public events (yay, you're cool again!), and Crucible to get more marks so I can buy some of those God-Roll Vendor items.

I'm really looking forward to playing the story this weekend!  Then time to get gally and Khalastov!

The worst part of leveling the other characters is subclasses!  Did the Spark help you out at all with the Warlock?

I think the gear reward system is designed to get you up to 320 ASAP to make running the story more manageable.  I can't wait to hoard some more engrams for my Hunter and Warlock!

gear purchase would be the fastest way, but I barely have any legendary marks so trying to get some put away now

spark got me to Llvl 280, and I had some gear to get me to nearly 300 really fast, but I really need legendary marks asap.

and yeah the spark is nice but I have nothing in the subclasses so its bare bones running that for a while.

Man, that stinks.  Why be level 40 when you can't do anything without any of your class skills...sheesh. 

If I'm on at some point, let's do some warlock leveling.  I'm about 60% on my Stormcaller (enough to be pretty decent in the Crucible), 50% voidwalker and basically nothing on my Sunsinger.  Doing story missions at the higher difficulty would be really good for subclass xp.

350 Light, reasonable good guns, I did snage a 350 Patience and Time from a special weapon legendary engram!  One mission down, but it's already time to keep on rolling through the RoI story and those daily events for marks and prizes!  I want that Crucible Hand Cannon!  And the High Impact Sniper!

EDIT:  Dudes, I just realized that I have an entire set of FWC armor with class item!  I'm so kewl! LOL, but it only takes me to 348!  Blah!  Max light FTW!
