~~The official FIRE JOHN FOX AND MARTY HURNEY thread~~

if history is an indicator, id say fox/hurney will get a pass this year too. it wouldnt surprise me one bit if they were here this time next year, medioricty is acceptable for the panthers organization in general. ive been a panther fan since their inception, after a while you get numb too it. i think we all do, something has to give. fox has done good things, but player development problems have been lingering for years. the qb situation squarely falls on john fox. i would be willing to bet my paycheck that jake delhomme finishes the season, without giving matt moore a sniff at the starter spot. fox will try his best to salvage the season, and we will all still be wondering if matt moore can handle the job. i truly think the players have given up on fox and his staff already, you can see it. it wouldnt hurt as bad for me if i knew we didnt have talent, we have talent on both sides of the ball. when we consistently outcoached week in and week out, it gets old. and we get beat pretty much the same way every week, teams jump on us early because they know we cant play from behind. i love this team and i really feel bad for the big cat, it has to be eating at him. i just wonder if he is satisfied with meing mediocre? he deserves way better than what he has seen the last 8 games.

oh i totally agree sam. like i said, its not like we dont have talent. whats better not having any talent and scraping by, or having talent and under-utilitizing it year after year? as for last year, we had a soft schedule, 12-4 was good but take a look at who we played. dont get me wrong it was a great season, but its consistency thats builds winners. my worry is that it continues to spiral to a point where it scares off potential coaches, where they may second guess coming here to take over. like i said, it wouldnt surprise me if hurney/fox were still here next year. nothing surprises me anymore with the decisions the FO makes.

Signed.

This team has talent, but no motivation or discipline.

Get Fox's ass out of here before he does even more harm.

Also Hurney, while picking up great players should get the boot too.

You don't mortgage the future to win now, and not win now.

His ass should get burned for that as well.

I am on board totally with this thread. Both of these guys have got to go. Before last night I would argue Fox but he has lost this team. I hate to admit it but I truly believe there is more going on here than 3 losses. This team seems to be totally out of it and it is the job of the coach to have the team ready to play and playing together. They have lost their identity and don't even look like they are playing hard.

Hurney has ruined the team for today and the future. For years he has neglected to address the QB and WR/TE issue. Both of these positions have been left with absolutely no options. People saying that we can't bench Jake are stating the point. We have no options at QB and Hurney is responsible for that. People state that we have no other WR to take pressure off Smith. Again they are stating the point. No options = poor management.

In addition to these failures, we resign Delhomme and trade our 1st round pick for a 2nd round pick. Huh.

I can't believe that Hurney hasn't already been canned.

Take a look at how Bill Cowher did in each of his seasons with Pittsburgh and tell me you don't think he could quickly have more success than John Fox has had:

1992: 11-5, division champs, lost first playoff game

1993: 9-7, lost first playoff game

1994: 12-4, division champs, lost AFC Championship Game

1995: 11-5, division champs, lost Super Bowl XXX

1996: 10-6, division champs, lost second playoff game

1997: 11-5, division champs, lost AFC Championship Game

1998: 7-9

1999: 6-10

2000: 9-7

2001: 13-3, division champs, lost AFC Championship Game

2002: 10-5-1, division champs, lost second playoff game

2003: 6-10

2004: 15-1, division champs, lost AFC Championship Game

2005: 11-5, Super Bowl XL Champions

2006: 8-8

Fox has only had 3 winning seasons out of 7. He hasn't ever had a winning season when we have a tough schedule and most importantly he is too conservative to ever win a Super Bowl. 2003 was our only chance under him and we blew it. The team has lost respect for him, you could see that in the way Beason exploded after the time out last night. You can see it the way Steve Smith attacks the play calling and most importantly the team has given up on Jake.

Jake is one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the league. He has never been a good quarterback and his accuracy is probably bottom 3rd of the league. If some things dont change soon the fans will stop going to the games and lost money is a sure fire way to get fired. If you don't like the product don't buy it, as George Seifert found out. I think we have too much talent on this team to consistently be a .500 team. And if John Fox isn't fired this season then I will show JR how much I disapprove and try and sell my PSL's. I am tired of supporting this type of mediocrity for the past 10 years I have had them.

We need a Motivator as Head Coach, someone the players will fear but respect. Someone that would be up in Peppers face spitting at him while chewing him out for being worthless, who would tell Peppers he has no Balls and plays football like a schoolgirl.

Someone who would've yanked Captain M. the other day, then cut him from the team first thing Tuesday Morning.

We need a General, Fox is no General.

Zombie Patton for Coach!!!!

If I had my way, During the 3rd quarter of the game against Dallas I would've went over to Peppers, so the whole team could hear it and hand him a fan. Tell him he's done for the night and sit over on the sidelines and fan his pu$$y while the men on the team play some football.

We need a General Patton!
