Cowher spent 13 years in Pissburgh before he got a Super Bowl ring. Next season his team poo the bed almost every game.

Give Fox some respect people. He has taken this franchise to a Super Bowl, a couple NFC championship appearances. And even when he has a losing season, he still competes w/ 7+ wins(except for his 1st year).

Funny how much difference a simple W in the win column can make. 2-3 plays could have made or break the game for us yesterday. D'Lo doesn't fumble, bad spots etc..

We lose a close one everyone goes bat poo insane, we pull out a win all of the sudden we've rebounded, S. Smith still has 6 years in his prime, Delhomme is rajun again, Fox should be extended, etc..etc... Everyone looks better. Typical fan overreaction. We could have just as easily been 0-2 last season. Not saying we are perfect, but we are not a run down garbage team like people here think. Chill the f**k out.

If we somehow magically won this game I don't think the general sentiment would be that much different. We couldn't stop a paraplegic from running for 100+ yards against us at this point.

Didnt this combo get 12 wins and win the south last year?

Regular season wins don't mean a damn thing. There's a reason people rag on the Cowboys all the time. It looks very likely that this will be the fourth straight season with no playoff win. If that happens, it will have been five years since our last playoff win assuming we were to win one after the 2010 regular season.

He's done nothing but help destroy this franchise since 2005. And this team doesn't even look close to being a 7-9 team, much less a playoff team. No back-to-back winning seasons either. The Falcons look set to shake that monkey off their backs, why can't we?

Thsi is why people need to lay off Delhomme. He sucked two in a row. He deserved the criticism. But the real reason Carolina sux is the DEFENSE. Meeks scares me.:(

The Falcons easily handled us yesterday. They beat us worse than that 8 point margin. We haven't even been competitive in a single game in calendar year 2009.

But the offense was on. ST was atrocious and 3rd down D was terrible, more so than usual. And we still could have won that game. I know it sucks that we are 0-2 but at least we can say that this is not are best football.

I dislike the Cowboys too (most Falcons fans do b/c of the 1980 outcome)...but I listen to Charlotte sports radio sometime (especially close to the Falcons games) and I am always shocked at the Cowboys hate and discussion from people in the Carolinas. Why is that? Its like the Cowboys play in Wilmington or something based on the radio show.

and have a staff/coach that struggles to get over the 6 wins hump for a few years and you will beg to have Fox back for his 7-11 wins every year. Tampa Bay fired their coach that was doing a good job...hows that workin out for them?

Wait, what am I saying. Im a Falcons fan...YEAH, you need to FIRE FOX.

But I have to admit, while I like the players Carolina drafts usually, consistently trading a 1st for this years 2nd seems really dumb.

I actually think that might have been the best performance we can hope for. Jake was the best he can possibly be with his 1 TD/1 pick self. Running game was clicking. 89 had a big game. Defense and special teams were garbage. That's going to be our MO all year long with the exception of Jake fluctuating from horrible to regular bad to mediocre all year long. And that's the scary part. We might have given the Falcons our very best with the players we have and we STILL weren't even competitive.

    • If there's another QB that came to the combine after packing on 15 lbs of water weight to hide his playing weight, I don't remember it.  I understand it's all part of the pre-draft game, and he participated. The FO was stupid and ignored huge red flags.  On a side note though, I was at the airport a few weeks ago and saw a basketball team going through and decided to try and look through them. I'm 6'2 and these guys were 6'6 and up. I was amazed by how much I couldn't see around them. And these guys weren't 300 plus in pads. I still think he's having a hell of a time seeing the field at the NFL speed.
    • There is merit to the points you're making here. On the flip side one could argue it took us investing 150 million in the oline for him to have a breakout season. And he has still yet to hit 1k rushing yards in a season. As far as Brooks goes the position does not require that significant of a draft investment for many other teams. That's not being negative it's just a matter of fact. The 49ers did quite well with a UDFA running back while McCaffrey was out. It is understandable that some people have concerns. That being said it boils down to whether or not you believe in the player. We just have to see what happens with him and Brooks.
    • Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job.  What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it?  Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day.  If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
