~~The official FIRE JOHN FOX AND MARTY HURNEY thread~~

Fire Fox? Maybe, and I'm thinking of purchasing a ticket for that bandwagon.

Fire Hurney? No way in hell. He is a genius when it comes to getting the team in under cap (this year excluded). He has done well in free agency, and the draft, and makes difficult cuts when he has to. Keep Hurney.

Hurney is just John Fox foreskin...cut him too. hes mortgaged our future draft picks and spent all the money in the bank on 30 % of the team. We have the distinct possibility of really sucking bad this year and wont end up with a high draft pick.

i'm not loving the idea of bringing in cohwer but the idea of him coming in and having a good bit more power doesn't bother me.

hurney's responsibility is to get the best person in for the job to help the team win games. if fox isn't going to do it then hurney needs to recognize it and take him out. if he can't take care of business he should be out of business. he does pretty well with managing the cap. it could be a lot better but oh well. personnel decisions are the weakest point. if cowher can come in and tell him who he wants and doesn't want and hurney's job is to say, 'yes sir' then i'm fine with it.

richardson wants the panthers to build a steelers type team. cowher knows a lot about running a steelers team. why not give him the job?

i don't think that richardson is going to settle for another losing year after this one. he's running out of time and apparently he isn't beyond firing his own sons.

whatever it takes to get this team consistently winning i'm fine with.

This is as good a post as any for me to jump into the Cowher discussion. I'm not necessarily sold on Cowher. I know he was a fantastic coach with the Steelers, but I question whether the fire is still going to be burning inside him if he comes here next year. I fear there may be a bit of a George Seifert effect in him. He's won his Super Bowl, what is there left to prove? I guess that he can right the sinking ship that is this franchise, but Cowher makes me nervous. I wouldn't object if Richardson hires him, but I'd be a bigger fan of a Leslie Frazier taking over.

Good post. Leslie Frazier is a solid idea
