jake and john lost another game for us

Sadly, I was thinking the same thing. All of our DBs seem to regress after they've been with us for a while. Munnerlyn only got the break up at the end because he doesn't know yet that he's supposed to back up 15 yards and then go in for the tackle.

Yeah, don't forget Ken Lucas. That guy went from being a beast to being the most pansy cornerback I've ever seen.

But at least he never got pass interference penalties since he was never close enough to interfere.

..Now I'm a Jake hater but he played just ok...The game was not lost by Jake this time but was lost earlier when the Defense started looking confused and played too far off the recievers. Then the running game for the Falcons was on point and we had a hard time stopping it. Now I still think that INT by Jake was crappy..it made his stats look bad more than anything. Oh well on to the big "D"....another defeat on the way...:( We are looking like the Lions more and more....

Can we ban this guy for being a complete fool? WTF did Jake do wrong, except for over throwing some guys?

Sorry, but Zod has told us mods not to ban people for being idiots.

It's the reason 90% of the posters are still here.

I kid.

Yeah, the Falcons moved the ball at will and yet somehow we only lost by 8 points. Jake played a pretty error-free game until he was asked to convert a 4th and 10, which is pretty much no man's land no matter who your quarterback is. Bottom line: he played well enough to win. I try to defend our fanbase, but honest to God some of you make it really hard sometimes.

Other than the captain, who else even defended a pass today? And who played on a man close enough to recover on the break to compete for the balll instead of flail at it or trying to dislodge it after the guy has it tightly wrapped up.

Didn't see good technique again today. And where was godfrey? He is a hitter but cover over the middle and he always late.

There is plenty of blame to go around and the secondary deserves some of it. Still it was the failure to stop them on third down that killed us. And limiting runs to 3 yards instead of 6. We didn't get them off the field. When we can do that, we are in every game instead of trailing and needing a miracle.

Still after the first game this looked more competitive. Whether we like it or not, this is what we got and I'm hoping we are ready to put a few quarters of football together at Dallas. Thats the next opponent and anything else is ancient history.

As for Jake, he had a gameplan he executed well. Gave us a chance to win on the road. Sure felt better than last week. I hate losing but it could have been worse. A lot worse.

Jake didn't lose this game... my god.. he had no other option on that play. he had to do something. it was 4th down

Jake played well, I'll give him his props. Fox on the other hand, HORRIBLY coached game.

Defense & special teams played a huge part in the loss today. ....

A decent D and average ST and the Panthers would have won today. Jake, Davidson, and the O line coach deserve a lot of props.

Keep in mind that even though Jake threw a couple bad passes, a couple passes of his passes that were dropped should have been caught (King and Smith come to mind).

If you think Jake lost this game, you really are a moron. Sorry to say that, but it's true.

What we saw today was the team we though we'd see during the preseason: a team with offensive firepower in Smith and the backs, but with a suspect defense.

This ^^^

...along with some poor ST play.

A number of elements lost this game for us. Can't really single out any one area.

Matt Ryan could have wrote a novel with the lack of pressure

Special teams play was bad. Blocked punt and several long returns.

Before the 4th and 10, they should have run 1 or 2 plays to shorten the distance.

Jake started off a bit slow, but generally played well. He has got to learn to take a sack instead of trying to get rid of the ball at the last second. That scoop attempt pass could have destroyed us.

All in all though, we played a lot better than last week, or during our last trip to Atlanta.
