Night and Day

Just wanted to take a moment to stress how different Stephen Hill looks this year. The difference is night and day.

Last year at this time, there was at least 7 or 8 drops a day from him. That is no exaggeration. This year through two practices, I have only seen one single drop.

With his size and speed, if he can add in an ability to at least have an average drop rate.... watch out. This kid could be a monster. carolina-panthers-otas-12.jpg

I would think this is a make or break year for him. Can't keep investing a roster spot or even a PS squad spot on a guy every year without some game time production.

We've done that with Bersin for like the last three years now...and we've got no more than a move the chains once a game receiver who doesn't play special teams.  I imagine Hill can at least do that.

    • It seems that the story of the day was really turnovers (which are sometimes mistakes, sometimes just great plays)
    • I didn't watch, but did he get sacked because he was extending plays, holding on to the ball to long, or were they getting thru before he had a chance to even set up?
    • Look I am not a Bryce truther I think he’s a backup at best still. But BUDDY this lacks a ton of context. We were playing with a double digit lead for much of the game and Canales really closed the playbook. Which I really don’t get because Bryce looked confident and in rhythm today. When we did go back to the pass at times there were crucial drops that killed drives. I remember Coker not coming away with one that wasn’t the easiest catch but still one he needs to make. That would have been a solid 15 yard gain and new set of downs. Then Legette had another brutal drop that would have been like a 7-8 yard gain to set up a third and short.  Now I’m all for entertaining if Canales game script today speaks to the trust/confidence he has in Bryce. But can yall just enjoy something for just a little while?
