By the way, I have had Charter for years and not once have they ever pulled my credit report.

No, I mean credit history- different from a credit report. And when you enter into any contract for a credit card, it's part of the fine print. Bank accounts as well. Hell, in my job I see credit histories every day when I'm checking on the status of utilities at an address.
