Does anyone know of places in north carolina or the southeastern usa that could visually double as Vietnam?

I'm looking to film something that needs fairly extensive geographical replicas of Southeast Asian topography.

Anyone familiar with areas that could pass for flatland river delta type of terrain? In particular I need dense Asian jungle and flatlands with palm trees sticking up above the treeline. I've found one or two sites in Florida that might pass muster but I'd like to shoot closer if possible.

Here's what I'm trying to replicate, roughly:

If you have ideas or locations, post any pics you have. Thanks!

Anywhere around the Santee in South Carolina. There are some cyprus swamps and gives that tropical, wet feel. Not sure if it's dense enough but probably so.

And if your looking for any wide open depressing looking places go no further than Marlboro County, South Carolina.

that's kind of what i was thinking. it's probably as close as you are going to get. that area probably has the climate most like what you would find of any place in the carolinas.
