Bobbles? Don't remember those.  Up to you to prove it.

And fumbles are counted as fumbles whichever team recovers the ball.  He had ONE.

Uno.

I can concur with the bobbles. Alot of them. There was a reason it got to the point where we didn't play him. He didn't secure the ball well enough. I want to say he was inactive a few games cuz of the ball security. He got lucky that he only lost one

I stand corrected and hopefully he has a better grip on the ball than I remember. He will need it when he sees emergency playing time. :+)

You guys did well on self-fulfilling your prophecy... lol.

"Well, gosh, you proved to me he didn't have a fumbling problem BUT I DARE YOU TO PROVE HE DIDN'T BOBBLE IT!"

Since y'all were proven mistaken with irrefutable statistical evidence, you just moved on to invent some unmeasurable bullpoo out of thin air.

Rivera said a Cam fumble was his fault, during read option

The stats are never going to show a fumble for the RB during a read option play.  It's the QB's job to put the ball in the RB's hands.  You can't statistically put a fumble on the RB, when the QB still has their hands on the ball.  It's not fully in their possession yet.  Now, there very well could have been error between the two, as they had not played together much at the time.  Cam and Stew have a better understanding of each other, as they have played together much longer, but it's happened between them as well.

I still can't believe that people want to use that play, as part of their evidence that CAP has a "fumbling problem" though.  That's just silly.  Two people had their hands on the ball.  He didn't just drop the thing out of the blue...

@raleigh-panther you keep mentioning speed, but I already mentioned that Wegher is extremely fast.

You must not put a lot of stock in Whether. I can't say that I am surprised, but you have to let things play out. He could be a flop, or he might be the most complete young back on the roster if he has developed some blocking skills.

Sorry didn't see it.. Why has he not seen the field?   Is he not better than Fozzy?

I think it's because he's not the same type of back as Fozzy.  He would be in the same RB group as CAP, so that's his competition, IMO.  Hard to put any "stock" in him though, as we haven't seem him do anything outside of preseason.

He's an undrafted rookie from a small school, it takes time to sculpt this raw man beast into a reliable component of the offense.  I'm sure you will see more of him in preseason this year but until Stewart is gone he won't get to see the field much in the rotation.  He can improve his position on the depth chart though.

@Nick_81 is right. Here is an article on Wegher from last year where Rivera says as much. Rivera also tells you that the young back wasn't put on the practice squad because they thought he'd be poached.

He can become an every down back," coach Ron Rivera said. ‘He did all those things you’re looking for in a running back. He was dynamic with the football. He blocked.

“Even when he wasn’t supposed to block he blocked, which was good. That’s a whole other story."

Being a young, dynamic football player, it was hard to risk putting him out there and bringing him back to make the practice squad," Rivera said."

Now unless things have changed, which I kinda doubt, you can probably tell from that that Rivera and company may just be putting more stock in Wegher than many Huddlers even realize.

Wegher has to wait for his turn. He had a few problems in college and did ultimately take a more unconventional route to the league. Ultimately coming from a small college, he probably had more things to clean up and polish than Cap. Even though that's just speculation on my part,  you have to figure that this being his second year, he has had time to learn the system and improve upon his skill set. As such there is reason to believe that we may be seeing a little more of him this season (and a lot of him in August). I am not going to presume that he jumps Cap on the depth chart, but anything is possible. With Stew getting up there in years and slowing down (and, no, I am not throwing dirt on him yet) just a little bit, Wegher seems to be primed to be in the Panthers' equation for the future.

We will see.

I definitely like Wegher's potential and am not too concerned with fractions of seconds...      But I've only seen 40 times from 4.4 - 4.6....

Where have you seen he has legit 4.3 speed?   I'd say he runs around a 4.5...
