Selecting the 2016 Panthers Wide Receivers

Here is the process you need to use to select the 2016 Carolina Panthers wide receivers corps.

This process is based on five wide receivers being kept, as that 6th roster spot is desperately needed elsewhere.

Ron Rivera learned a valuable lesson two years ago when the Panthers were loaded with larger slower receivers, they had way too many and it hurt the team. This forced Rivera to make roster changes mid season, something he hates doing. You can bet he has not forgotten that lesson.

Since the two absolute locks (Benjamin and Funchess) are slower receivers, the Panthers will keep two faster receivers and only one additional slower possession type receivers.

The X-Factor here is Stephen Hill, who has both the size and the speed (freak of nature).

Therefore, to choose the remaining three...

Step 1: Choose TWO of these players

Ted Ginn

Philly Brown

Stephen Hill

Damiere Byrd

Miles Shuler

Avarius Capers (just signed)

Step 2: Choose ONE of these players (obviously omit Hill if already chosen)

Stephen Hill

Brenton Bersin

Kevin Norwood

Keyarris Garrett

Cobi Hamilton

Follow these rules and tell me who you came up with.

I won't pretend to know but where does football IQ play in?

who's more smarter than the rest?

If that's the case the we get another year of Bersin, because apparently he absorbs everything as far as football IQ goes.

Too soon! Insufficient info! Do I take Ricky's praise of Byrd's improvement to a level where he bumps Brown? In group 2 has Hill really improved? He sure doesn't bump Ginn in group 1. In group 2 I don't know WTH these guys can do, other than Bersin.

If forced to choose I'd have to go with the known quantities in group 1- Ginn and Brown, and I'll go out on a limb for group 2 and pick Garrett. At least he's proven he can catch the ball.

I think Corner and Safety get the extra roster love this year, and man do they need it.

I don't disagree, just not sure if adding more fringe players will help that much. We actually ended the season with 6 WRs and 10 DBs, so it can be done.

    • Jalen Hurts is just reckless with the football. So many turnover worthy plays when i watch him.
    • What does have to do with the guys breaking down film? it’s interesting you bring up Dalton game game from last season when the Seahawks were leading by 17 points in the 4th Quarer so it was a bunch of garbage time yards but those don’t count for Bryce vs Denver, even though Denver’s D is much better than the Seattles.   The truth is most QBs would look bad in the same situation as Bryce. It’s not like he’s leaving a bunch throws on the field the last 3 weeks, at no point was it like the first two games where it was clear it was on film that guys were open and he wasn’t pulling the trigger or flat out missing. idk what the future holds for Bryce, I don’t believe Canales truly trust him or the the pieces on offense but I’m not putting undeserved blame on him for playing on a bad team.
    • Fitz, you made some of the old heads seeth. Now for the others- how many of them have savior BY as their fantasy football QB??  Where are all the bets for him to cover 175 passing yards among other easy QB bets, why are they not supporting their hero?!?!
