It is really sad to see how far this franchise has fallen, since the end of last season. Hurney and Fox have mortgaged the teams future with no first rounders for the next two years. Franchised a player that doesn't want to be here by paying him 17 million a year. Given big contracts to Gross and Delhomme, which neither one hasn't impressed me that much to deserve that amount of money. A head coach that is a joke and a general manager that is a bigger joke. A coaching staff that would really have a hard time finding jobs with any respectable winning NFL team. This team plays with no heart except for Steve Smith. They have no leadership, no team speed on defence and they are not physical in the way they play. This team will be lucky to go 4-12 with the defence they have on the field right now. If Richardson wants to make the Panthers in the image of the Steelers, I suggest he start today after the game and fire Fox and hire Cowher.

i'm pretty pissed at fox & company right now and I want them gone. but why cry for a coach that is pretty much a carbon copy? it took cowher how long to win a sb? then the next pitt coach did it again a couple of years later.

we need some new blood. bringing in old coaches is for pussys.

Point is, he did win one.

...and drafted/ left behind the talent that Tomlin has now.

Dick Lebeau deserves credit of course, great defensive mind; but, he had a coach that let him call it.

There are worse fates that the Panthers can endure than having Cowher on the sidelines.

Not another Cowher thread!! Why not get a coach that is not a big name like Cowher, but can win games? Kinda like Fox from his early days with us. Just because Cowher was the best Steelers coach doesn't mean he'll have the same success here. I'm not going to wait for another 10 or 15 yrs. if he become the new coach. :rant:

There was a time when folks got excited to hear we had hired George Seifert of 49ers glory. I think we all know how that played out. I agree that we should find that young, hungry coordinator that is ready to jump to the next level. They aren't all going to be Mike Tomlin's, but I'd still rather go in that direction.

Well for some of you who are hating on the idea of hiring Bill coward. Bill had 10 winning seasons out 15 as the steelers HC. Which is more then I can say for fox. In fox 8 years with the panthers. He has had 3 winning seasons out 8 years with the panthers. 3 playoff bids 2 nfc champship games won 1 of them and made it to the SB. that is a decent history with the team. But fox can never seem to win back to back seasons ever. And it seems his team is quickly fading on him. I am almost for sure if panthers have a loins type year. Then Marty and fox is out the Door. Who will be the Coach is out up in the air. But we also will need a GM that a great history of having a good draft and is good in FA aswell. Then worry bout the coach. But the only thing that right now would save Fox and Marty from been fired at the end of the season if the team should suddenly start winning big time. But since the teams they are playing this year is well very good. So Fox and Marty is pretty much gone. It would be nice to have Bill Coward and the 3-4 to come to carolina. But just because Bill lives here in NC doesn't mean he would take the Job if we offered it to him. But time will tell I guess.
