Pokemon Go

I'm worried though about this game, already at lvl 16 and almost 17, it's taking too many balls to catch just low Pokemon.   The game penalizes you for leveling up and makes stuff harder than if you were even level 12.   Maybe to get you to spend real money, I'm guessing, but it may drive people away pretty quick.   It's not fun using 9 Pokeballs on a 230cp bat, honestly.

This is how Clash of Clans became.  Unless you were going to spend like $20-50 a month you were just spinning your wheels.  After a year of no progress because I wasn't going to spend that kind of money I just  deleted my account.   Best decision I ever made because I had become addicted and wasn't getting any satisfaction out of it.

At least I'm getting exercise, for now lol.

People think this may because when trading comes in, those more common pokemon (but high CP) may be valuable to trade, like people that don't find that species near them but have a lot of others, etc.

End game is a bit of a concern to be honest, without more regular combat I can't imagine catching my 3000th Rattata (which London is absolutely full off) is going to bring me any sort of joy. Plus I don't live near a pokegym so my only actual chance to combat is a 10 minute wait for a bus at my local train station on the way home from work.

I hope they can add some sort of pvp other than the gym system, otherwise the fad will wear off quickly.

I'm level 7 and the best thing I've seen was a Nidoqueen, which bolted. A lot of ingress players are saying not to expect any of the issues to be fixed because they never did jackshit to fix ingress. It's really fun right now, but as weeks go on people are going to get tired of havng to hang out in parking lots just to play a game. For a game that has been in development for ove r3 years, it really seems like they didnt think it through very well.

I've read that too from Ingress players, but I think that Pokemon Go is way way more popular than Ingress ever was or will be, so I'm hoping that Niantic will put more resources into addressing the many real issues with the game. I agree with what a lot of you have said, they shouldn't have scaled the difficulty of catching basic pokemon like Ratattas and Weedles with your level. It makes sense that rare and powerful pokemon are difficult to catch, but basic should stay basic. I should never struggle to catch a damn Pidgey that I'll never use anyway. This especially affects people who don't live right next to a pokestop so they have almost no pokeballs to catch anything with.

Well the patch came fast so that IS a good sign (I'm still freezing though but pokestops are more responsive).

I think for high lvl (16/17+) it's best to ignore high CP commons (like 250cp bat or something like that) and only get them if green circle.   You can't sustain balls other wise and you want to drain 10 balls on a good pokemon not that bad, pidgy, or w/e.    I don't think evolve farming level is as good later on.  It can happen but slower because you'll want to go after only greens.   Also as you get higher, you get less balls, because you're getting 3 types of potions now, two balls (soon 3 I think), and raspberries.   Also, raspberries seem to cause the "curve" that people are having issues with, so that's odd.

Of course if you are able to farm multiple pokestops for hours and/or want to spend money on balls, that's different.

After the patch I'm constantly freezing when trying to catch pokemon

That happened to me yesterday, and today for a good 30 minutes, that is after you get them in the ball.   Some people think the game freezes because it's either running or you are catching, wait 10 seconds to kill it just in case you caught it, but usually for me, they have just ran.

This is what I'm doing now. Until they update to start giving more candy for transfers on say a Pidgeotto or a 250-300 Pidgey...I'll just go after <50 Pidgeys and get the same benefit and not waste balls.

What are raspberries and curve balls?

You get berries to help catch pokemon, you use them when you approach one to catch it before throwing a ball. The curve ball thing is when your ball just mysteriously curves when it gets close to the pokemon for no apparent reason. Frustrating when it happens.

Just went outside to the park near my job again, another Magmar!  Just 28cp though.  Uptown CLT, the green, that's where that thing spawns

I hit lucky egg out there (under a lured point) and evolved a bunch.  New beasts to collection:

Vaporeon - 1180

Vaporean - 987

Clefable - 809

Venomoth - 685

Like 4 Golbat's that are 750+ but I have so many don't want to list.

My friends are jealy and hate me but all I did was play and evolve right lol.

I got half way to level 19 doing those things.

I'm still skipping common CP's that are not green unless I'm over 100 pokeballs, then I'll try, or if I need something really bad to evolve, etc.
