Biggest problem I have with it is you run out of pokeballs if you don't live in an urban area. I'm in a suburb and the closest "rest stop" to get more pokeballs is a couple miles away and I'm not just gonna chill in a park 5 days a weeks for this. My office I believe will have a rest stop that I can hit from my desk, but if not, I'm probably out. Rural area users have for sure gotten boned by the distribution of pokemon/rest stops.

 

You can check out a map from "Ingress" and look to see where portals are because it's apparently by the same company and they reused user submitted data/spots from Ingress for pokemon go. One thing I've read a few times is the company behind the two games is not great about reacting to player responses/requests, so it might stay the way it is.

if that's true then its really crappy. I understand not allowing it to just be a free for all but there should be some way of allowing rural areas a way to set up new spots. There is a multi purpose "x-field" in our new conglomerate neighborhood that would be a really cool location for a stop or gym. The field almost LOOKS like a pokemon battlefield. Yet 5 miles down the road is a neighborhood/park that has 12 stops within about 1/4 mile. Can't just go driving halfway across town every 30 minutes though or even every day for that matter.

This thing is a battery killer even when you select battery save option. They say they are working on fixing that but don't expect to walk around for very long before you lose power.

From what I read, they took locations for gyms and stops directly from Ingress user submitted "portals" but they stopped taking requests for portals in Ingress so newer areas/developments and rural areas with less Ingress players don't have stops and gyms. There's a Super Wal-Mart right down the road for me that logically should be a stop but isn't. Hopefully they'll change it. Like you said, it's not feasible for people that don't live in the center of a town/city to go downtown all the time for stops and gyms.

Well my life is going to be screwed. This game is too addicting. It's 10 p.m. and I went wandering around my block without shoes.

I got a notification earlier while I was driving and a damn Zubat was hanging around my dash board. I had to choose between letting him get away or continue driving. I chose to pull over to the bike lane and catch him.

Downloaded today. Fun stuff. I live across the street from a park so I can "check in" and get Pokeballs 24/7 from my couch. My gf has caught like 15 in the apartment alone, lol. I told myself if I ever find the Pokemon named Ditto I'm going to quit. I hope I find him sooner than later.

I can hit a checkpoint at my desk at work lol and some nice person put a lure on it this morning.   There's a lot of junk uptown but it's so hot, not sure I can go out at lunch lol.

So i go to walk my dog this morning like I do everyday at 5:30 a.m. There is a park a block north of me and I always have the place to myself. 

Tell me why there are 5 other adults like me in our 30's, already awake and out looking for Pokemon at this time?

Man, I never played Pokemon, but I'm pretty hooked, especially since I can grab them while at my desk at work and there are like 2 parks near my job in uptown that look loaded.  Everyone plays games now, it's not generational anymore.   I wouldn't be surprised if my mom starts playing this haha.

Sadly this game has a ton of bugs.  Keep running into freezes after trapping a pokemon.  Went out walking and wasted time because game kept freezing.

Are you guys Powering Up more than one Poke? Or just one? So far I got this owl looking one and I captured him at his highest Evolution. I've been powering him up only.

I've been evolving bats (some reason, my work has a billion, no lie I've caught like 150 today).  500 exp per evolve.  Doing that with pidgeys.  I have been boosting the Golbat and a couple other Golbats for gym defense around my house.   Got one to 605 right now not sure he'll go much higher.
