I don't know what you guys have seen but to evolve a Magicarp takes 400 Candy! that will never happen since I don't even know how I even caught my first Magicarp. Who ever has a Gyrados...I would like to see that.

There was one at a gym here. The person must've lived next to the river or ocean where they spawned like mad. Or somehow caught a stray one.

And for those who don't know, that's that big ass dragon worm on the load screen.

Tons of Magicarps in southern Florida. I have almost 200 candies saved up so I am almost half-way there and have a CP 90 Magicarp which is almost as high as it can be so the Gyrados I get in a month or so should be crazy strong.

I'm at 110 magikarp candy as a level 11

Magikarp are near almost any body of water, even small ponds.  I heard Boardwalk in University is one of the best spots but we tried out the Ballantyne Business park the other day and there was a small pond and 3 pokestops right near each other, there was tons of Psyducks, magikarp, and slowpokes there.   

Also Electabuzz spawns over there in the business park.

Unfortunately for me, being 20 miles from the ocean and living in a drought, there is no water near me. If I remember correctly, I got my one and only Magicarp from a hatched egg.

Maybe not in THIS case, but this is why trading will be awesome.  The problem is people selling pokemon for real cash, which is why I bet you have to be close to someone to trade, not sure.

Have you been to the cemetery in Mint Hill off Lawyers? It has 3 gyms in it and at least 20 poke stops and it's a rather small cemetery.

That's where I get my magikarps. Pokestops everywhere along the greenway. Haven't been to the cemetery in mint hill. There aren't many good areas near my house.

So two nights ago, I'm in my town with my girlfriend and a buddy. There are probably 25-40 other people there as well, and around 10:00-10:30, a nice pokemon will pop up among the pidgeys and rattatas and bellsprouts. It was a Growlithe, and I have yet to catch one. Threw one razzberry, one great ball (on a great throw)...busted out and ran.


Last night, same thing, but with a ??? Snorlax (I'm level 18....). Girlfriend caught a 1150 Snorlax, buddy of mine caught a 950. Random chick near us exclaimed "It's 1500CP!"

Basically, I have no luck. And the servers were down all day today, so I couldn't pop a lucky egg and incense before work to evolve and farm XP.
