McClain poses no threat to the rookies. You can't reasonably justify starting the rookies over Boykin given how much better an alternative he is. Remember, this isn't about getting the best 22 out there. This is about advancing an agenda.

Dude, you pout and emote more than a teenage girl that doesn't get invited to the prom.

Face it, Felicia... Prom King Dave just doesn't like you.

Im just waiting on the announcement of when Bersin is cut..

Well, he basically got cut last year at the end of training camp, and was signed to the PS.  Got called back up when Cotchery was hurt.  So.... the Huddle survived his being cut once already.

I don't think a Bersin cut thread will be as long as this thread about Boykin, tbh, though there will probably be a lot more funny gifs, and we'll certainly see "It's Happening" time and time and time again!

The flip flopping on this board is something to behold. Boykin goes from hero to zero in the drop of a dime.

All I'm gonna say, for the people who keep bringing up rookies need to understand the transition from college to the NFL for a corner might be the hardest transition in all of football. No matter the pass rush

This is what posters don't realize when they think everything will be fine starting a rookie this year.

Boykin:

1.) Signing for vet min...to play the nickle ....in the mindset that he'd be playing with Norman and Bene..betting on himself and signing with a contender knowing our track history for 1 yr free agents would probably lead him to a pretty good deal in the future.

2.)Norman gets released....No way in hell he didn't atleast think of his "very small" chance at getting starting time on the outside.

3.) Nfl draft ...he watches as three corners get picked back to back to back ...

4.) May 16th...

Damn ....I feel for dude. Thats a nfl rollercoaster ride. Maybe he will catch on somewhere and not be subject to the Wes Horton treatment.

Like the time he was content to play a season with the twin dumpster fires Byron Bell and Nate Chandler as our starters? Yeah, he definitely never had a strategy fail.

Was that year we won the division? Or was it the year we won the division?

what metric are we using here to gauge success and failure?

A losing record, our QB getting beaten to death. You know, stuff like that. An FCS team could have "won" the division that year.

Again I ask what is your measure of success?  Seems like we faired pretty well.  Given the circumstances.

It's also worth noting that these seasons aren't played in a vacuum.  Players develop and schemes evolve. Thus, what happens in one year affects what goes on in the next.

Most specifically to this discussion, the season-ending run we had that year did a lot to propel us to the winning season we had the following year. Plenty of players who worked through both seasons have said as much.

I guess these Madden kids think every season just resets itself and we start from scratch, but the dynamics of real-world football are a lot more complicated than that
