I didn't say Worley was a 1st rounder but watching some film the kid obviously has talent but needs to be coached up. Also don't blame it all on Worley when WVU front 7 was pure garbage. everyone has good and bad games, I predicted that he might actually be a stand out by the end of training camp.

We weren't even close to that this season.

It depends on what stat you're looking at.

We were #1 in opponent's QB rating... I think that is a more telling stat when looking at a pass D than overall yards allowed...

With the addition of Butler alone, we have beefed up our point of attack. Throw in the best LB unit in the game and our zone defense, and there is no reason that we can't improve...

The loss of Josh Norman sucks, but it doesn't suck as bad as casual fans want you to think it does.

Wow. Boykin was the one that I sought comfort in when Josh was released.. Hmmm, guess DG suddenly remembered how pissed he was when Mitchell and Ginn got a payday after playing here for one season. In all seriousness though, this must mean that they like both Worley and Bradberry on the outside, and that Bene therefore is projected to play in the nickel

I was reading that projected that Worley might get some nickel action, also was it me but some of the film I saw this weekend looked like they had Sanchez at safety in a couple schemes... I am like most I trust the coaching staff and Gman doesn't go all rouge and make decisions with out coaches input..

I knew you'd have a difficult time responding to that. Maybe just try a smarmy insult next time.

Right.  You're so fuging high and mighty.  You can selectively read whatever the hell you want to, but by god, everybody else better read WTF you have to say.  fug outta here with that bullshit...

Daryl Worley - Wow. We moved up to get him, and I really like the pick. I've been keeping up with WVU since they had Noel Devine. Worley wore the same number, 7, in his time with the 'eers. He is a gambler that is pretty solid in coverage and recovery, and when he gambles and wins it pays off. If they can coach him up, he will be a solid addition to our zone coverage.

This board is here for discussion, both positive and negative, and I don't need to see things play out before my eyes before I can formulate some kind of opinion on them, especially with the whole "the answer is already on the roster" precedent which has been the annual cause of our eventual defeat that your "wait and see before thinking" approach routinely touts as reasons why should not think or talk.

A couple of guesses to this surprising move.

1) off the field/or locker room fit. That is a big deal to our org

2) Boykin is solely a nickel corner. I remember people bringing up his below average play on the outside. So really this is a Boykin/Sanchez thing. And they liked what they saw. And want to get him on the field ASAP. Ron favors vets so that might be apart of the reason.

3) we're bringing someone else into the DB group.

maybe it's a combination of all three. It's very perplexing. DG isn't a dumbass so there are obvious calculated reasons both long term and short term.

i don't like this because depth is important and we are insanely green with the DB group. And with bene coming off a broken leg this is definitely the most concerning position group on the team.

I was pretty floored when we snagged him as most people were. I thought the reasons for Boykin jumping around from team to team were justified with a few simple explanations. Maybe there was more to it.

One thing I do know is that this team is very thoughtful with their preparation and background research on players so they didn't just do this on a whim. See how this plays out but just from a reactionary standpoint right now I don't like it.
