Remember the team that he came from cut him when he was pretty much their only CB worth a poo. Maybe the steelers knew something we didn't about him until we had him on our team. Thats the most likely explanation.

The Steelers didn't cut him. His contract expired and they tried to re-sign him but he chose Carolina instead.

You got my ass. I wanna say it's a little disturbing when I think about how long it must have taken you to find those threads, but you got me. I can be reactionary. Thankfully I haven't made a thread like that in 3 years.

Reactionary isn't the word. Moronic would even be putting it kindly.

You baboons wanted Newton kicked out he door, then we proceeded to win the division 3 years in a row, and got to the Super Bowl on the back of our MVP quarterback. No, reactionary does not come into play here, that is literally all time huddle idiocy. Just crawl under a rock.

Who knows, but you're crying over a guy that hasn't played a single down for us, more than people were crying about Norman, who was infinitely more important to us.

Think about it for a second.  Why did the Eagles let such a talented nickel go?  Why did he only start playing for the Steelers near the end of the season, when everyone knew their secondary was garbage all season, then they just cut him loose?  We're now his 3rd team in 8 months.  Something doesn't add up...

I stopped reading after a few lines because I got the impression this was another "don't discuss anything or offer up any opinions because of such and such" which is the most annoying hot take on this board by far.

This board is here for discussion, both positive and negative, and I don't need to see things play out before my eyes before I can formulate some kind of opinion on them, especially with the whole "the answer is already on the roster" precedent which has been the annual cause of our eventual defeat that your "wait and see before thinking" approach routinely touts as reasons why should not think or talk.

If this team thrives with two rookie CBs, that'll be a great surprise-but it will be just that-a surprise. I don't need to see how it plays out for myself to know that it probably isn't a good idea to put all your chips on their success/failure.

Boykin was WAY overhyped here.  More then one person was parading him as one of the best nickel corners in the NFL. One of the best nickel corners in  a passing league wouldn't be looking for his 4th team in 2 years at age 26.

Philly and Pittsburgh don't have good corners at all, yet the guy could not break the starting line up. He was traded for pennies, and then sat on the bench in Pittsburgh.

That being said, I'm surprised they cut him this early in the process, but I believe Gettleman is just trying to do him a solid so he can find another team early in the process.

You don't like Garrett's tape but you like Worley? Worley was god awful in some games. I was surprised he even got drafted, that's how bad he was.

Where has anyone stated Worley was a bum? everything I have read says he looks the part and was a stand out at camp. In fact he was picked player of the day but most on Friday?

The only thing I am positive of about this situation is this: DG doesn't make this move without the consultation and approval of all of Wilks, McDermott, and Rivera

Which tells me all of those guys must have been thrilled with what they saw from Bradberry, Worley, and Sanchez.

Which excites the hell out of me! :)

Wow. Boykin was the one that I sought comfort in when Josh was released.. Hmmm, guess DG suddenly remembered how pissed he was when Mitchell and Ginn got a payday after playing here for one season. In all seriousness though, this must mean that they like both Worley and Bradberry on the outside, and that Bene therefore is projected to play in the nickle

Why don't you go ahead and name some names for me them.

Which game changers will better us play in and play out from what we were last year.

I guess I could start with the 3 corners we just drafted, or Vernon Butler? But it's May so I don't know for sure either, none of us do and that was my point.

If Boykin was so great, why was he on this 3rd team in 8 months?
