N C State coach to Russell Wilson: "Son, you'll never play in the NFL."

I'm still waiting for Russell's biggest secrets to be released. I know he's hiding something, I know there's something really fugged up that will eventually be discovered.

Couldn't agree more. Everything about the guy just screams fake, from his"miracle water", to his contrived statements, his goody two shoes act and his overall phonyness.

I can believe that TOB probably told RW that it would be hard for him to make it in the NFL, that scouts didn't love him, etc.

But yeah....ALL the local college media guys, not just the State ones, are rolling their eyes and calling RW out on his bullshit for this. He supposedly even went with some country hillbilly accent when he was doing a TOB impersonation during the speech. Well, TOB is a straight up military dude from Ohio, but, fit those narratives in Russell. Keep believing in magical nanobubble water and thinking you were an amazing MLB prospect or even a guaranteed thing in the NFL.

We were in school at the same time. I have friends that played on the team (some shared the same huddle with him). He is not the person he makes himself out to be in the media.

Same story from me. Knew 3 of the offensive guys pretty well. 1 really liked RW, 2 put up with him.

Exactly. There's a reason you didn't hear an outcry from players then (or now) about him not "being allowed" to come back.

Gotta love the revisionist history of the Huddle and other places this story has been posted. Mike Glennon, much like Marcus Mariota, was basically promised their starting job in college, thereby forcing out the incumbent starters at NC State and Oregon.

Because Wilson has ended up being so successful, we suddenly get "oh, no no no...that was not the case...Wilson could have started if not for baseball!"

Complete and utter BS. NC State wanted to start Glennon...he, like Mariota, was highly recruited. The writing was on the wall at NC State...just like it was at Oregon...and therefore Wilson played spring baseball and left. He was not going to get the starter's job...just like Darron Thomas was not to start over Mariota.

The funny thing is you don't hear this nonsense about Thomas and Mariota because Thomas never made in the NFL. If he had, we would be seeing stories about how Thomas "wasn't really committed to Oregon and he always wanted to leave anyways" to justify pushing him out the door.

But this is the Huddle, and the Huddle does hate Wilson so...I guess the Huddle will believe any anti-Wilson BS that comes across the internet concerning QBs they do not like.

...Okay but this isn't wrong tho?

Wilson wanted to play Baseball, hence why he went to the minor leagues after being drafted. Nobody's saying he's wrong for chasing his dream,  but when he stunk into up in the minor leagues, he tried to 180 and say "lol yeah I wanna play football still." after he had already moved on from NC State. What would you do, one more year of Russel Wilson after he literally left you guys behind, or two more years of a promising QB who has been putting in the work all offseason? This isn't damning Russ for what he did, but how he obviously, blatantly lied like he just instantly wanted to come back to Football for state.

This isn't just Panthers fans saying this, there's a few posts backing this up as well, even audio of Russel speaking on this and never bringing this up.

So what if NC state didn't want to go back to Russel, it's not like he did them any favors. The world won't wait on you, you can't go do one thing and expect any old doors to be open still when that doesn't pan out.

Everybody and their mommas knew Wilson was not going to start over Mike Glennon. Just like everyone knew that Darron Thomas was not going to start over Marcus Mariota. Just like everyone knew that Malik Zaire would start at Notre Dame over Everett Golson. Hence the reason Golson transferred to FSU.

Just like everyone knows that Sam Bradford and Case Keenum days are numbered.

I remember being at FSU during Wilson's last year at NC State and it was an open secret that Wilson would have a very hard time keeping his job the next season over Glennon. Just like it was not a secret that Marcus Mariota would be the starting QB in Darron Thomas last season at OU no matter how good Thomas played in his final year.

And that is the reason why Wilson focused on baseball. He was done as NC State's starting QB unless Glennon went down with injuries.

Everyone needs to just stop the BS and admit: we thought Mike Glennon was the better option (just like Oregon and Notre Dame did) and therefore we let Wilson walk. It is not an unreasonable position to take that Glennon would be better than Wilson at NC State. That is fine.

But please stop pissing on our legs and telling us it is raining when it becomes apparent that you may have made a mistake. Own up to it and stop making sh*t up about "Oh, his heart wasn't in it."

Russell, is that you? Because you're clearly making poo up.

If Russell wanted to come back and play (the whole time) all he had to do was say "I'm coming back this fall to play". But he wouldn't say that. He wouldn't commit to coming back because he truly thought he could be an MLB player (even though he had only ever been a mediocre college player). Once he started playing baseball full time then he realized that he was only ever going to been a middle of the road, minor league prospect.

Come the first of June, he called TOB and said he wanted to come back. At that time, he was told that he could be Glennons backup or be given his release because they had to move on because of his choice to play baseball.

He did what he had to do for himself and his "family". No one at NC State would have a problem anymore if he would keep his mouth shut but he won't. And even worse, when he opens his mouth he keeps spewing lie and lie.

Yeah just lol at the above big post.

If RW wanted to play, he would've been the starter. TOB just wanted him to actually be at practice, instead he was still chasing the baseball dream. Then, it became a "well, is one year worth of Russell (and a Glennon transfer), equal to to two years of Glennon".

RW made his choice, and then TOB made his.
