Football Outsiders sees rapid decline for 2016 Panthers with 9-7 record

Technically, every team in the South plays the same schedule. We play each other twice. We play the NFC East, and the AFC West, which is 14 games. The other 2 games you play a team that was in the same position as you. We play 1st place teams. Atl plays 2nd place teams, NO plays 3rd, and Tampa plays the last place teams.

 

Not much of a difference in total. But it is what it is.

Well now let's not solely look at stats and underestimate the locker room experience we will be losing with the departure of  Allen, Harper and Tillman. 

That having been said, my gut tells me we are still hungry.  Although a "Super Bowl slump" may rear its head during the season , we still have an awesome culture and locker room. Anyone that has played organized sports knows that's the most important aspect of the game... Especially when the parity of talent is virtually equal  at this level. 

Cant blame the talking heads for pointing out the stats.. We broke negative trends throughout the season. No reason why we can't continue.

I'd argue every AFC West team is better than every AFC South team (excluding Colts). Same with NFC West and East (excluding the Rams)

We gained KB. There aren't 7 teams better than our team. Good lord. The only way this team is losing 7 games is if the injury bug bites hard.

Ugh someone didn't watch our team last season. Tillman was beat up, and even at 100% he's the slowest CB in the NFL. Easy to replace. Roman Harper, on his best day, was the slowest safety in the NFL. Easy to replace. Allen was on his last leg, and rarely ever came anywhere near the QB. I think I remember him getting 1 sack. Wow how will we replace him?

Look here is what really matters. Cam. The defense is fine. I mean it was leaky last season, and it's not going to be amazing this season either. We will get by. What matters is that our QB is considerably better than the rest of the QBs in the NFL. Most teams are just suffering through terrible QB play, so they are easy picking. Then you have the good QBs who are in the twilight of their career and have noodle arms. We're going to feast on those teams. 7 losses? Please. Stop it.

Saints: 9-7; 7th ranked offense, 30th ranked defense 
Panthers: 7-9; 23rd ranked offense, 17th ranked defense 
Buccaneers 6-10; 32nd ranked offense, 13th ranked defense
