Cam said he didn't wanna get hurt, but when i watched that  play a few times, it seemed like he was tryna just bend down and pick it up when it was at his feet, but it looked like someone was gonna bat it towards him so he jumped back a lil. A bronco got his hand on it but didn't hit it with any force;if he had hit it towards cam with any force then the hop step back would have made sense to a lot more people.

Von was just in cams face way to much that game. I am way more upset at the game planning than anything. And it irritates me the most how haters rationalize us not being able to block von somehow makes cam overrated.

Just stupid logic.

Maybe I missed something so please correct me if I'm wrong. I've watched a good bit of football through the years. I don't recall a ref digging through a pile of 300b dudes and a QB being at the bottom of it with the football. This has and always will be a ridiculous story for so many reasons.

As has been said, Cam just over ran the ball. If he jumps on it, it's a possible major injury with other players around him. It's a split second decision that probably happens at the subconcious level. It's time for people to move on.

Physically impossible for him to dive on the ball from the position he was in. Straighten your legs out and try to dive on something 3 feet in front of you then holla at me.

Well, if you're 5' 7" or under and 175 pounds, then it's probably not that big a deal. If you're 6' 5" and 240 pounds, you'd probably rupture your own spleen. Looked bad at the time, but the first replay told a different story.

Bad choices in your poll.

I voted no, even though I don't agree with your "the game was over regardless" addition which was a bit stupid.

I voted no because it was NEVER as easy an attempt at recovery as many purport it to be.  A 6-5 guy and the ball was right at his feet?  How in the hell is he supposed to DIVE on that?  OK, he can't... but he can flop on it, right?  Do any of you short people realize just how unnatural and how difficult it is for tall people to just remove their legs out from under them in a split second and flop?

Anyone who had and continues to have a problem with Newton's actions on that play is a damn idgit.
