Was it such a big deal? I hate reading comments about Cam not diving for the fumble but the game was long over even if he recovered it. Is it really something that can cause you to question his character? Or is it just opposing fans and the media hating?

People at like it was at his feet. It was virtually a few feet away and he was standing tall while ware or miller or whoever recovered it was on the ground already right next to it.

People hate Cam and will hate him until he retires whether he goes 0-16 or 16-0

He made a split second decision to see where the ball would bounce instead of awkwardly trying to jump on it. After he chose not to the ball actually did bounce out like he anticipated, but in a different direction which allowed the Broncos to recover. Loose balls are clusterfugs and it was blown completely out of proportion.

I've always thought he was trying to pick it up and still salvage a positive play out of it. Never had any confirmation either way that that's what he was doing but it would make sense given the way he plays. Obviously that was a big mistake and he should have dove on the ball, but at the time his thought process probably put him in hero mode. By the time he realized he needed to dive on the ball he was standing directly over it which made diving on it impossible. I'm not going to be too upset about him trying to do too much.

I've never thought it was a business decision(that's a lie, it was my immediate reaction, but I changed my stance after the replay).

This. It's crazy how ppl can't understand that and call him scared. Has anyone but us watched Cam. He is most definitely not scared.

To be honest when I saw it initially I was thinking "smart play, don't get yourself injured Cam for a game that was decided weeks ago" but then I turn around to see everyone calling him a quitter and sum poo for it. Doesn't really make sense to me since Can has never had questions for his work ethic...

Maybe if he was the type of QB who never runs the ball, but when your QB is the guy who plows into the line, jumps over the defenders, and tries for that extra yard or two on the ground when the team needs it, as if he's the RB, how can you question his character or willingness to get down and dirty?
