Wanting Boldin might be thr stupidest thing I have heard. Listen my people, our WR corps is finally good and finally set. We are no longer depserately looking for people like Boldin. Those days are behind us

I want the best group of wrs possible for Cam. If we bring Boldin in and he shows he should have a place, fine. I've always thought he has the ability to take over a game, even as he has aged and that is something that Cam could use . If he doesn't make the cut, so be it. But don't dismiss the guy just because of his age.

Not saying we should get him but what will arian foster get.  Are the two achilles injuries just gonna make him a vet minimum guy?

Someone could stash him on pup for a playoff run.

Would actually be solid paired with Stew for a year. I think the Dolphins were interested but wanted to wait for him to heal up and probably the 12th as well.

Bringing in a racist to play WR seems like a swell idea.

Culliver kinda sucks but he would really like HB2 at least.

Culliver was solid when he was with the 49ers.  As for the Redskins, it could be the lack of talent around him, coaching, or he doesn't fit their system.  Culliver does have some character issues, too.  I'm sure he would love to be closer to home and play for a team like the Panthers, but chances are, we won't sign him.

Didn't Culliver have micro-fracture surgery?

G/C - Scott and Gradkowski are the only backups we have that have ever done anything in the NFL so more depth needed

OT - Foucoult is the 4th OT on the roster. I'm not okay with that.

Agree.

We seem to have a few promising young guys like Yankey, but I really want at least one more Oline vet as backup.  Velasco & Amini were both solid for us last year until Amini got hurt.  Velasco is now with the Bills.   I'd be ok bringing Amini back, but I'm not sure that gives us any additional depth at tackle.

We really need one more guy with experience who can backup either guard or tackle.

@Bartin re: comment about one injury away from a potentially disastrous backup situation at OT... we lucked out last year with no OTs missing playing time besides Daryl Williams, and his injury was prior to Amini's getting sent to IR.

For week 4 with both Amini and Williams being injured, we brought up Foucault as emergency Oline backup, necessitating waiving Wes Horton (temporarily).  Fortunately he wasn't picked up by another team.   Not an ideal situation.

It's pretty shocking that we never brought in another Oline guy after Amini landed on the IR, but we were dealing with a bigger crisis at CB - first Tillman's injury and then Bene's.

I truly hope that the fact that we got away with only keeping 8 Oline on the roster for the last half of the season won't cause Gettleman & Ron to gamble again this season.  Even with players being able to backup multiple positions, I'm still not comfortable with only 8 Oline on the roster.   It really does seem like inviting disaster.

    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
