Sanchez: I wouldn't call myself a gambler (via Joe Person's latest)

The positive here is that his gambling is predicated on film study looking at the  tendencies of his opponent and what opposing offenses like to run in certain situations.  This is exactly what he will need to do in order to flourish in the NFL.  The fact that he already has learned to do this somewhat is a big advantage for him moving forward over the other corners we drafted.  Drafting players from school that have coaches who are former NFL players typically help them make the transition from college to the pros as they are already familiar with NFL techniques and expectations.

As for tackling it is usually more about having a mindset to jump in there and mix it up.  Tackling isnt hard to learn but you have to have the mentality to be aggressive and not shy away from contact.  On our defense if you cant tackle one on one in space you wont play much.

He definitely has to hit the weights and become a better tackler. There are very few if any NFL players he can tackle one on one without the help of someone else

Agree completly

but if theres a defense that could mask it somewhat, its ours
