Philly Brown had shoulder surgery

Brown can be a deep threat.  He has certainly proven that.  He doesn't have Ted Ginn speed, but he certainly has enough to be a deep threat.  Blowing by someone is more about routes, fooling the defenders etc.. than it is about pure speed.  Speed certainly helps, but its hardly the only factor.

Same guy you yourself documented in the Huddle 2015 Camp Updates as having the worst hands of the WR group up until August 4, when he ripped his ACL and went on IR?

Hope he uses Garrett's tennis ball method between now and camp

Philly truly needs to learn how to fall or not fall at all. Nearly each time he caught a pass, he suddenly in the process of falling.... AND landing in a weird matter on his shoulder.

Regarding his speed, they put a tracking device on each player. Among the players there's a big competition about who's fastest. Philly has gotten bragging rights a few times.

In the case of Philly being hurt, could continue to stash Byrd on the practice squad to be speed insurance incase Ginn gets hurt. They kept Byrd around for a reason. Ran a sub-4.3 40 on grass at some point during the draft process last year.

You nailed it with that comment, he is in the process of falling and catching on a lot of the deep balls. I've noticed quite a few seemingly unnecessary jumps too, hope he sheds that.

I've also heard about the speed competition and that he is the fastest guy on the team. I think he is deceptively fast, two plays before his 86 yard TD in the NFCCG he blew by the defender for a sure TD but Cam missed him.

He's got the speed, and he sure has the fire. He's always talking it up on the field.

Good luck Philly, hope recovery goes well.
