The Top Ten of that draft...

1. Eric Fisher

2. Luke Joeckel

3. Dion Jordan

4.Lane Johnson

5. Ezekiel Ansah

6. Barkevious Mingo

7. Jonathan Cooper

8. Tavon Austin

9. Dee Milliner

10. Chance Warmack

Star falls to us and grabbed KK in the second, I see now why Gman had KK graded in the first, he should've went first overall.

Ain't happening

Other than saying ain't happening you've given no reason.  We're thin both in the short and long term at OT.  One injury and it's threat level midnight.  We traded for Kevin Norwood and Jared Allen, and, again, claimed Jonathan Martin.  All last year, without NEAR the cap space.  This makes worlds more sense than that.

I tend to agree, but not to that degree...  fuggin pathetic picks! Wonder who the UDFA in that draft were?

PFT pointed out that only twelve of that year's thirty-two first rounders had their fifth year option picked up (Star obviously being one of them).

A lot of folks think this year's first round was chock full of reaches, so who knows?

2012 was a bad year to have a bad year, good thing a faux heart condition made star fall, He is a way better player than everyone drafted before him. Funny how that works.

I would love to see what our coaching staff could do with a player like Joekel.  Hell, we have gotten pro-bowl seasons out of UDFAs and revitalized Ohers career.  Would be great here IMO.

If the money is right I would definitely give them a whirl.  Remmers is probably going to be replaced by Wiliams so if we were to bring either one of these guys in they would have to fight Oher.   Oher had a good year for us so if they beat him out at LT than the Panthers win.

So yeah, he’s a great prospect, no doubt, 1st round talent as a TE. But when I look at him through the lens of that PSU offense, they were running so much through him, I’m not so sure it was beneficial to seeing how he translates.  They were getting him open in the flat, running weird trick plays, and designed a lot of ways to find him on delayed seam routes and such. So a lot was structured around getting him the ball in creative ways to advance the ball, in steady sequences, methodically down the field.  Thing is, yeah he’s catching a ton, is big, and can block, but throw him into an NFL offense in a more traditional sense, he’s gonna be stickied by speedy LBs and big nickels. I just wonder how he is in a more isolated fashion— when he’s just a piece of a greater NFL offense getting shadowed by more talented defenders. I think it could still be great but I have question marks when it’s at the TE position. Will he look no different than other very solid TEs or is he this offensive centerpiece at the position that doesn’t come along often (Bowers, Gronk, Kelce, Witten, TG, etc)? I think he brings a ton and could be one of the safer TE prospects, but what I’m unsure about is if you’re really getting this new age Witten type people are crowning him as. Even if that’s the case, is that worth it? If he wasn’t in PSU’s Franklin/Allar offense, would you be seeing the same output?  More questions than anything - I could get on board with it, but it’s hard for me to really project because of how that offense was (which was so frustrating at times).
    • Twitter sources, but supposedly the Rams want him. He might actually go Round 1.
    • You aren't going to ever get him out of the equation. As he has stated previously, he believes it his right to make the final call on decisions.
