Probably just be throwing money away.  The last defensive player to 1in the MVP was LT and that was 30 years ago in 1986.  Before then?  1971.  That concludes the list of defensive players to win the MVP.  A WR has never won the MVP.

In fact, LT was the last guy to win the MVP who wasn't a QB or RB.  30 straight years of QBs and RBs with the list skewing heavily to QB.

The smart money is on a QB.  If you're gonna bet on a non-QB, pick a RB.

Probably but basically every 100-1 bet is. If any non-QB/RB does win I'd feel like those two have a great chance. Watt gets a lot of outside hype. I'd put $5-10 on each.

Seriously, Andrew Luck is in the top five odds of winning the MVP?

My God, you guys can talk all day about how overrated Russell Wilson is but nothing, and nobody takes the cake quite like one Andrew Luck.

That is my biggest peeve with the whole MVP award, its not even who is most valuable player to their team, it's who's the best offensive player.  That already has its own award.

However, if it's the most valuable player to the league, then yeah, its always gonna be a QB or RB.

Well, there's a reason why average QBs get huge contracts, QB prospects get overreacted every year, and teams make smdesoeration trades to get to the front of the pack to try to draft a franchise QB.
