Cash’s role will be similar to what Arizona did with Deone Bucannon, whom they drafted in 2014 as a safety and transitioned to a hybrid “money” linebacker

How is Bucannon's coverage vs run-stopper abilities anyone?

Love the idea of using him in "joker" or "money" packages. He seems to have a feel for getting to the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage; he also had nine forced fumbles in three seasons at Duke.

At the absolute minimum he should be upgrade on special teams.

Best case he is Tyrann Mathieu-lite wreaking havoc all over the field in a couple years.

wont make the roster hes this years brian blechen

If he's any good, he'll probably be on the roster because as the top UFDA prospect following the draft, he'd almost certainly be poached from the practice squad by another team.  Key Garrett could be in a similar situation.  It will be very interesting to see what happens with both of these guys.

We've got Miley, Wegher & Marlowe that we made it a priority to "protect" last season even though they weren't activated much (Miley was stashed on the IR).  Oh, and Norwood too, who stayed on the 53 all year even though he was active in only 1 game.  This year we've got Cash & Garrett.   Almost certainly we're going to be cutting some quality players, or losing them if we stash them on the PS.   A good problem to have, but tough decisions ahead for the coaches & FO.

Go look at his tape against Georgia Tech.  Really shows what he can do close to the line as GT is an option team.

Shows every defensive snap for that game. Great piece of tape on this kid.

Thanks for posting that video....really gave me a better idea on how the kid plays.  Really good at the line of scrimmage on blitzing and run plays his way.
