Chargers release P Mike Scifres

Chargers were one of 4 teams that drafted a punter in this year's draft. Think Gman would be interested in signing a vet punter like Scifres?

Yeah I think we should. He constantly gets over 45 yards per punt and would beat out our other punters.

How much can he realistically ask for? He's a punter who got cut at the end of April. Not many options left for him.

No. He was cut and not technically an UFA

Agreed. And it's not like we don't have the cap space anyway. Who knows though, maybe Waters is the real deal.

Yes he would be...............said as much in his presser.

with punters being drafted then some vets will be released.

We probably shouldn't jump at the first punter cut. Wait just a month or so, after mini-camp, and see what happens.

I don't disagree with your general argument, and Scifres would be a quality addition. Wouldn't blame them if they pulled the trigger but also wouldn't mind seeing what the young guys can do.

I'd bring him in asap...worst case one of the other guys outperforms him so we cut him.

How would this affect our compensation for Norman?  If this would cause us to lose our comp pick then we aren't doing anything until june/july
