For all you tinfoil hat wearing Cam and the offense needs help people

Gettleman is preventing all those comebacks after our offense got up to a huge lead then the D would blow late due to being gassed. See Greenbay, Indy, Giants, and post season Seattle last year.

Indy: offense put up 24 points into the first min in the 4th.  D gave up 17 points last 4 min of the game.

Greenbay:  offense put up 27 points in the first half. D gave up 22 in the 2nd half including 16 in the 4th

Saints: offense put up 41 D gave up 38

Giants: offense put up 35 most of the way through the 3rd. D gave up 28 in 1 quarter+4min of the end of the 3rd  to finish out the game 21 came in the 4th

Seattle: offense put up 24 in the first, D gave up 24 in the 4th

Its real easy to point the blame saying "well we should of scored more point to end the game".  But its a joke if you point that to the offense thats #1 yes top in the NFL in points scored per game.  Meanwhile your D is getting beat like a drum in the 2nd.  Thatd be like if Denver lost 3-0 last year while there offense got 3 first downs in the first but 0 in the 2nd then they go pointing the blame the D for allowing that 50 yard field goal then go around with pitch forks saying "the D needs more weapons! The D needs more weapons!"

People seem to forget we had one of the top offenses in the league last year without one of the top up and coming weapons in the league.  We put up the pointstairs we just struggled to to keep the leads.  I remember going into halftime of the Seattle playoff game after the huge lead wondering can our D show up in  the second half, and I was among many thinking this. Outside of Bene coming off a broken leg and Boykin, all we have corner wise is guys we pulled off practice squads just so we could have bodies suit up.

People use the superbowl as the whipping boy for offense needs.  We played one of the top D's in superbowl history.  Still were in striking range despite multiple turnovers including 2 fumbles by Tolbert that Never happens.

Momentum swing also effect games bigtime.  We had a few Huge drops including the Cotchery one which set up a 3rd and long which is always and bad corner to be put in against a team with 2 elite pass rushers who could go down as hall of fame players.  That 3rd and long ended up a sack and fumble backed deep returned for a TD.  That 2nd down drop gone the other way. We would have had the ball mid field tie game with momentum in our favor.  Funchess in rookie camp some raved here he looked possibly more talented than KB.  Once Camp came it showed he was going to have a learning curve. Come late season he really hit his stride.  I can only imagine what a full offseason to piggy back off the way he finished could end up turning out.  Same with Corey Brown.  Many were high on him including Zod who predicted him to make a big leap, got a little star struck once the pressure was put on.  Late in the season he really hit his stride after shaking off the jitters.
