On second thought...we should have paid Norman

i mean i'm not gonna act like this draft hasn't been fuging weird as hell so far but the back and forth gets tiresome.  arguing with people whose default opinion is that he's an arrogant ego-driven overrated jackass and the best he can do is not horribly fug up gets boring fast because there's always something.

Gooby is the biggest armchair GM on the Huddle. He is very outspoken about every Gettleman decision. Nothing Gettleman will ever do will make him happy.

James Bradberry and Worley are same measurable: height, weight, 4.6 40s, long arm ball skill guys.  We technically just got 2 Josh Normans that are 21 years old and 22 years old.  Way younger than 29-30 like Norman.  I was honestly pissed last night when this went down. but after doing the research, watching their film, etc. and trusting in Gettleman I am okay with this.  We need to have a strong day 3 though.  A lot of talent that we could use.

i blame josh's agent negotiating in bad faith more than i blame the general manager.  none of you will come out and say it but you're basically arguing that gettleman should have done josh's agent's job for him.

yeah he could have signed back here maybe but washington thrust a number higher than dave can count in his face within 48 hours.  that's life.

At the game last night......was angry with Hornets losing but seeing Norman with Iverson, CJ, Peppers, and Stewart made me angrier because I was following the draft and seeing we used our 2nd and 3rd round picks (and 4th) as a desperate move to replace him.    May have long time ramifications losing out on basically 3 picks this year.     All the confidence we had in the front office went down the toilet as quickly as the Hornets blowing a golden opportunity.

Everyone: Yeah we probably should've kept Josh but Josh's agent made it a pain and hassle for everyone, even Josh, and while it is regrettable that Gettleman let him go, and I don't agree with it, it is what it is and hey we'll be fine without Josh even though we'll miss him.

Gooby: lol look at you guys going Hiel Gettleman you guys would suck his dick even if he traded Luke and Cam why aren't you guys constantly questioning the guy who put enough talent on the team for us to get into the playoffs three straight years and is more right than he is wrong lol why aren't I a GM.

that's all well and good, but the GM of the panthers simply doesn't value corners like other teams do

Seattle paid Sherman, then Chancellor held out and they had to pay him; they're losing guys like Avril because of this and their defense will take a hit in the long run

Arizona paid Patrick Peterson and the Panthers "no name" receivers obliterated him in the NFC Championship

Revis played well in the Super Bowl, but Malcolm Butler made the play to seal the game and Revis was gone the next season

"big men allow you to compete"

why is this so difficult for people to understand?

Recent NFL history = gamble

It's is that hard to admit Gettleman fuggged up?

Again, what has normally been the case does not equal what will happen.  Because Dave didn't want to assume things will play out as "recent history" would indicate does not mean he fuged up.  That is your opinion and only that.  It was a choice that does not cripple the team in any form or fashion.  You're just bitching because he didn't make the same choice you would have.

I rather be a armchair QB than a hypocrite. I already posted the link to you and various others when Norman got tagged you lauded the move, calling it the smart move, how we should sign him to learn term contract. How that tune quickly changed when he got cut.

FYI I loved the when drafted Kelvin and Star. When we got rid of Bell and Lafell. The difference between me and knob slobbing hypocrites is that I'm willing to criticize or stand by my statement. You just blindly agree with everything

The only thing I'll say is I wish Gettleman could have gotten something for him.

Be it this year or next year. Josh was leaving.  We were never going to pay him what he wanted and he was on a one year rental, The fact that we already knew this made this move a lot easier to swallow that it happened this year.

I think if this happened two years ago, with, let's say, a clean Hardy, we'd all be more upset. Hardy was more impactful than any CB will ever be in our system. In fact, Elite Pass Rushers > Elite CBs. That's a given.  An elite Pass Rusher is harder to replace than an Elite CB.

Even if we don't have a CB we consider shut down, we think we'll be fine with our front 7, and the new CBs we bought in. Sure, they won't be Josh, but it's better than if Short, Cam, Luke or TD left for nothing.

So yeah, Gettleman probably should've just put up with Josh's Agent BS, but he didn't, and that's fine. It's okay. The Panthers, believe it or not, will be fine. Just like we were fine without KB (remember when you said we wouldn't be lol that was funny your track record is amazing.)

How was Normans tender gonna cripple the team? So your just gonna throw recent NFL history cause it doesn't favor your arguement,

You came in this thread moaning looking to derail OP thread
