what are you willing to bet?  

in three previous drafts under gentleman i don't think the panthers have drafted a defensive player that is not currently on the team.  much less cut before the season began.   in fact, other than klein who has seen plenty of playing time, i don't think there is one that is not currently projected as being in a starting role in 2017.

No, that was our record after losing Norman. Now we have reached for 3 draft picks that better our dline and attempt to fill his void at cb for the foreseeable future.. more like 6-10

OK,  it's the day after so no longer a knee jerk reaction. This still feels like a reach to me.  I get that big Vern was gettleman's bpa so I'm cool with that pick,  but 2 cb's that most thought were 3-5th rounders?  What does g-man know that no one else does? Is bradberry a safety?  Did Worley drop due to legal trouble?  I have to trust in gettleman but he's not making it easy.

maybe. but the fact that gettleman turned down 7 trade offers for our first rounder means that he was pretty high on butler... and gettleman knows DTs.
