People were lukewarm on Norman at first, more people liked him as they watched his Costal Carolina hi Highlight vid, by the time camp rolled around everyone loved him.

Bene, who we traded up for, was a literal unknown. No one had heard his name and the fact we traded up for him made people angry. But then Gettleman explained why he drafted him, because he's a goddamn beast and always around the ball, and people watched his highlights, people loved him. Some were claiming DROY.

Biggest difference is no one in Birmingham has a fuging decent camera for some highlight vids of Bradberry.

OK, that's fine. I will say it's a bit different taking a relative unknown or small school project in the 5th round vs 2nd round, I think that's the main issue people have with the pick. If we got him in the 4th or 5th it would be much more understandable.

The team clearly came to the conclusion over the last few weeks that Norman was nothing special. That his physical ability and size made him the perfect fit for our defensive scheme and that is what made him succesfull. James Bradberry is as close to a Norman clone as there is in the draft; Gettleman is putting his money where his mouth is on this one.

I for one love this pick. This guy has serious upside in our defense. While it took Norman about 2.5 seasons to come into his own, that was almost entirely because of his terrible attitude early on. If this guy, who the team interviewed and worked out, has his head on right, he could be really good really quick.

False. I would not say our team came to the conclusion Norman was nothing special.  They came to the conclusion they didn't want to pay him as the highest paid CB and moved on now vs putting up with the nonsense of dancing around with his agent.

NFL.com had him as a 3rd round guy.

It's ridiculous people are defending this pick. The fact is that we were the only team to even talk to this guy. Even if you want him, you don't need to reach.

Yeah, it's hilarious that Tampa Bay picked a kicker in the second round. But is it any different than us taking a fifth rounder in the second round?

Damn, damn, damn... why couldn't we at least have taken Harlan Miller. That would have been a reach, too, but nowhere near on this level.

Whatever. Just my opinion. Doesn't make it false.

Where in the fug did I say any of that? You are just making poo up you don't make any sense. I made that post at the people who continually bash who Dave picks and end up eating crow after the player turns out to be a good player I don't give a fug if you like the player or you don't I trust who Gettleman picks because he's the GM I don't understand what argument t you're trying to make here? Are you insinuating I'm some dictator who stops people from having an opinion? Do I control your life? What the fug is this conversation seriously.

I'm making stuff up? How much have you had to drink dude, jesus. This is what you said:

"Before yall start grabbing your pitch forks why don't you let the dude actually practice first? You think you fuging knee jerkers would have learned by now. Just because you personally don't know who he is doesn't make him a bad pick, who the fug are you? It takes 3 years to evaluate a draft class not 10 fuging minutes after the 2nd god damn pick."

Give the guy 3 years to evaluate before you call it a bad pick, but you don't say that to anyone making positive comments on this or our 1st round pick.

Positive comments 30 seconds after a pick is made - sounds good to me!

Negative comment 30 seconds after a pick is made - WOAH WOAH WOAH, why the knee jerk reaction! You need to give him 3 years before you say anything! Who the fug are you?! Put down the pitchfork!!

lol NFL.com was 3rd-4th, WF was 3rd-5th

Let me just totally skew facts to try to make a point lol

I saved most of the fanspeak draft boards.  The highest Bradberry was rated was 103 at Walter Football and 119 by Matt Miller.  So, theoretically could have been there at out 3rd, even on those boards...

Seems like a reach on the surface, but I'm glad we have a GM who trusts his intincts.  Will be cool if he's right and this kid balls out...

I'm not sure who else was there on the board at the end of the 2nd that I really wanted at this point...  seems like all the guys we would have wanted were gone.

Inaccurate.. We were the only team to bring him in for a visit AND workout.

He had buzz to be a 2nd/3rd guy.
