I feel as though we'll stay put today in the 2nd

If we fielded 7 offers from as many teams, they will most doubtedly still be interested in trading up early in the 2nd. A lot of talent still to be had. I feel as though the price due to multiple teams competing to trade up will be too steep.

Just an observation on my part, if Gman really really loves somebody, I suppose a trade isn't out of the question, I just don't see one coming in the second. I def see us trading up in the 3rd though however.

I think a lot depends on how the draft unfolds.  We probably have 5 or 6 players we are targeting and if 5 come off the board, we may move up for #6 before he gets taken.

This years second round talent > last years second round

Trading up will come with a higher premium that is for sure.

If Shepard, Ogbah, Henry, and Henry go within the first seven picks in the 2nd I don't think we move up

Like Gettleman said, that 5th year option is huge. It would take a lot to get him to move from the first. The second on the other hand.....

Yup, Gettleman has demonstrated a willingness to move up if we get within striking distance of a value pick on our board. We did this last year to grab Funchess. 

All depends on how high someone is on our board and how far they fall towards us. I think if Dodd, Ogbah, Derrick/Hunter Henry or McKenzie Alexander get in range we'll pull the trigger and move up.

I'm tending to agree that we're not likely to move up in the 2nd, at least not a major move up that would involve 3 picks.  Perhaps we could get up to 55 or something to snag a player we really like.  I'm more inclined to think we move up in the 3rd.  I'm hoping there are enough good picks still on the board in the second round tonight that someone we really like and want (& need!  LOL) falls to us at #62.

Gettleman may not believe in pixie dust... but I'm hoping some blows our way in terms of how the board falls.  #Gettlemagic needs to happen.  (Lots of skill, but some pure luck too...)

We don't need all our picks with how well the team was built and how much cap we got for FAs. What we do need is quality over quantity and I think that's what we will do. May not be a big jump but a jump wouldn't shock me.

To all who say major jump don't understand what premium would be needed to truly pay to obtain that spot.  I could see a minor move like you said but I would not be shocked who we want in the second round would fall to us.  Just like the first round we have a board of players with a rating and I expect the same for all rounds.  

Jeremy Igo had 4 1st round prospects to be possibilities.  If any of the other first round falls close enough, DG will not hesitate to trade up if the price is right.

Just watched the presser. Looks like I was right about us staying put in the second and trading up into the 3rd obviously.
