D.G 101: addressing the secondary by adding a DT

So Norman leaves and a hole in the secondary suddenly appears. D.G keeps his footing and continues to built the defensive line. If this dude pans out, they will have addressed that situation indirectly. He will pick a CB in this draft, (possibly 3rd or 4th round.) Panthers will have a Dline that will cause pain and suffering.

No one will run on this team and many a QB will be hearing footsteps on every snap.  Constant rotation for four full quarters. With an excellent dline and top notch linebacking corp behind them, good luck on having time to pick apart this defense. We don't need a 15 million dollar CB, a decent one will do fine in this situation. Good job by the ' godfather' once again.

No matter how good a CB is, he will only ever essentially take one non-QB out of the game. DL can shut the whole offense down. No matter how good the QB or receiving talents are on the other teams, they better be able to get their job done in 2 seconds because that pocket is going to be non-existant in the third second.

D-line directly effects every single play. 2 seconds after the ball is snapped determines what happens in a play.

Depth on the line allows our LB's to fly around.

Definitely give credit to DG, but I also wanna give credit to our coaching staff. We have some coaches who really believe in developing the people that we have. Try to remember that it took a few years to develop Josh Norman into the player that we finally saw. We will select a corner... but we draft them in places that we value them.

You can coach guys up... but you can't make guys bigger. If you can get a big guy with natural ability, we trust our coaches to prepare them.
