Cam Newton says he let people down with post-Super Bowl news conference

Cam doesn't need to apologize and I don't think he let anyone down...except the people who want him down anyway...and fug those people...the rest of us are just fine with it and actually like and respect someone being themself and not bending to the will of the media.

When dood is talking mad poo right behind you after a loss like that....you either do what Cam did or swing on the other guy for being a dick...I'd say Cam did the right thing.

Learning experience for the kid. He didn't let me down. I understand as humans, we act irrational at times. Hell, I was a sore loser when my gal caught more fish than me on a fishing outing once. Acted pissy and she doesn't let me forget it ha.

His daddy probably told him he could've handled it better.

I didn't like the reaction but think it's way overblown by critics.  I did like the Instagram link in the article.  Dude hopped a fence and hung out with kids at recess.  Very cool.  Wish they would report on those more cause Cam does way more of that.

This is exactly how I felt about it.

I 100% understood why he was the way he was that night....losing teams should NOT be forced to deal with the media immediately after losing the biggest games of their career (give them access the next day).  And....it was absolutely bullshit to set the press conferences up right next to each other.  Almost like they "wanted" an issue like this to happen.

Now, that being said, Cam could have handled it better and knows that he needs to be able to suppress those terrible feelings and put on a different face in future situations like this.......and it was a good learning experience for him.....which is absolutely a part of his maturation as a player.

You know, I don't think they did it on purpose. I think that this was the first time the Superb Owl was held in that stadium and the folks setting up the media area just did not think it through. The little curtains they had up just weren't going to create any sound barriers and the tightly packed quarters combined with a lot of non-professional journalists really screwed the whole thing up.

I don't think it was malice, just plain old incompetence.

But yeah, let the victors have that night.

Meh, I said when it happened I didn't like the way he handled it, but I also said it was no big deal either and would be surprised if he reacts the same way again. I've moved on and so should everybody else. at least until they bring it up on every national game we have this year and in the playoffs and before the Superbowl...fug it, its never going away. All we can do as fans is ignore the continued criticism.

The only time I ever did that, I spent the night in jail. How come when I do it, I get treated like a pedophile? But when Cam does it, he is just a big kid? Double standard in real life.
