Voth predicts Hunter Henry

Zithers

Would be comparable to Gronk and Hernandez in NE.  Although a more sane version.  It would be awesome.  Along with KB being back and probably adding another WR/RB along the way, this offense will be almost impossible to stop in the red zone.

I vote for drafting to 2 Henrys in the first 2 rounds.  Although the DE position will be hard to ignore.

I'm glad it's DG's decision and not mine.

Also says trading back with Browns may be an option for extra 3rd rounder and a swap of 3rd rounders to move us up 16 spots.   He said if Coleman is there we run up to put the pick in.   Also mentioned Booker from Utah as a RB we may like instead of Derrick Henry.

Devontae Booker would be soooooooooooooo good in this offense.

Oh and drafting Hunter Henry?  I'm good with that.

I wish he had said if that is what he is hearing, or if it's just a pure guess.  A lot of guesses are made using seemingly sound logic (such as we go TE since we wanted Cook), but ultimately end up wrong because they don't have enough information.

Generally, I don't really like Hunter in the 1st.  He should be an ok TE, but I would prefer a better blocker if we took one that high.  But as always, Gettleman has earned the benefit of the doubt.  So, if he is the pick, then I'll get behind it.

Well, guesses are just that.  He may have some "inside info," as to some of the favorites, but everything depends on people falling/rising during the actual draft.  Same could be said for our actual war room.  They couldn't definitively say who they're picking until #29's pick is in, and they know exactly who will be there.

Yeah, I know.  I just wish I knew when guys make these predictions whether they are based on real info that they have been told, or absolute guesses based on their own reasoning.

That's why I appreciate Igo so much, he has been clear that his four guys are players who he is being told we are interested in.  Nothing's gospel or certain, but it helps those of us not in the know set expectations and manage hope.

Kelvin Benjamin 6'5"

Devin Funchess 6'5"

Greg Olsen 6'5"

Hunter Henry 6'6"

"Big men allow you to compete."  Is there a secondary in the league that is built to stop this much height and athleticism across the entire field?  In the redzone it's going to look like the old Oprah meme, "You get a touchdown, you get a touchdown, everybody gets a touchdown!"

9 times out of 10, Voth has good info.  He's more "in the know" than any of our beat writers.

    • Does anyone know what the beginning of the league year means in terms of signing FAs? Anything? Will we just see a handful of guys released into the FA pool?
    • This is an excellent synopsis!  Our WR group is a 34 year old man who has had a hellova career, but can't keep it up forever. A draft reach who only produced 1 season in college and was seen as a project with a tremendous ceiling IF he hits his potential. I really hope that 2024 was essentially a redshirt year for him. And finally a UDFA that didn't get any real time until we were more than halfway through last season. AND THAT'S ALL. We need at least 3 more players, one of which has to start day 1.
    • Oh good grief. You can give him credit for the good without just glossing over the bad and pretending like we were not absolute hot garbage at certain points last season when the games still mattered and people were just complaining to complain. Make no mistake. While we hold Morgan in regard and like him a great deal because he's a former franchise player. He has to prove he can build this team through the draft just as much as any Panthers coach or player has to prove it out there on the field. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging these plain truths.
